Hi I really enjoyed the drive into Blackpool. Glad you reviewed the Ruskin it looks like it is of a very high standard, the room has lots of good points I've just purchased similar bedside lamps with USB sockets in the base perfect for a hotel room. Would appreciate the generous tea/coffee sachets most places quite stingy. Elsewhere looks inviting all providing for a great stay, the price is value for money and I would love to stay. I liked the act doing the Four seasons/Frankie Vallie covers, also a good sign when staff are happy and friendly. Thank you Paul ❤

I stayed here 2 weeks ago brilliant place lovely clean room nice lounge and the food was very good helpful staff Hardie in the bar area was lovely wish I had tried the spa I will go back ❤❤❤❤❤

Love this hotel. Been coming every year for probably the last 15 years for the New Year package . Excellent food, accommodation, staff and entertainment. Close to shops and Tower . Beach a short stroll down the street . Perfect place to stay in my opinion.

My late father stayed at Ruskin. His favourite hotel. When they found out he had cancer they upgraded him to better room than he paid for. really really looked after him. Lovely hotel staff.

Nicely done Paul. Looks clean and welcoming as you said. Loved the comment about the toast (wait 3 weeks, comes out pale and then it burns). Haha! 😄. We've all had that experience, and meanwhile breakfast has gone cold on the table, or the waiter has binned it. Haha!

Hi Paul, thanks for the review, glad you enjoyed it. We've stayed there a couple of times and think its great. Looks like the refurbished entertainment room has now been completed, it was in the process of being extended when I was there in March. Its part of the extension through to the hotel next door. The Premier rooms are worth a look, larger and better appointed than the standard rooms. Keep up the good work, cheers

Hi Paul, What a lovely hotel, so very clean. The sheets looked really white. Good bathroom, bit of a funny shape loo in the corner. But clean and modern. The food looked ok. The price seemed really reasonable. Thanks Paul.

I have walked past the Ruskin many times and I didn't realise how big it was on the inside it really didn't look,😊 any different or better than some of the hotel and guest houses I have stayed in though and I wouldn't call it the best in Blackpool I stay in the Forshaws hotel right on the promenade and I no some of the rooms in there can be quite smelly and dingy but I get a seaview room, albeit the windows are that dirty you can hardly see out of them but the location is ideal for a woman travelling on her own no dark and dingy streets to walk down going home on a night really enjoyed the video especially the drive into Blackpool xx

Excellent video Paul! Certainly appears to be a good hotel. The only problem I found was the size of the room based on double occupancy. Would be curious to know if there are bigger doubles?

I really enjoyed this Vlog Paul, I always enjoy each of your Vlogs - this one wonderfully showcased the Ruskin - I haven't stayed here in the past, though I think after seeing your video, I shall stay here. I liked the communal areas, I liked the bar area, I liked your room, and the entertainment looked really very good too. And of course your brekkie. I loved that they bring your tea/coffee and toast over, that's a nice touch. Paul 😄 on your travels in Blackpool, have you ever stayed at The Corona Hotel near the Pleasure Beach?? It's set back off the Prom, easy to catch a Tram or bus, plenty of free parking too and wonderful hosts, good clean comfy rooms and nice breakfast, give it a go pal.

Hi Paul I watched this video 2 days before me and friends were staying straight across the street as seen on your review the new Oxford (no comment on that) 🙈 thanks to your review we decided to book in the Ruskin the morning after our stay at the new Oxford just for breakfast which we could do for £12 p/p and I must admit it was excellent.

Used to stay in the Ruskin every year, or most years in the 80s and 90s and loved it, but it is really quite expensive to stay there now

It’s a nice hotel. The Lyndene seem to be charging around £35 on all weeknights throughout April. I just question whether the Ruskin is worth more than double that. For me personally, I couldn’t justify it. Thanks for another absolutely fantastic video.

I have stopped at that place before but it was over 25 years ago I had no complaints about it in fact it is the best place I have stopped in at Blackpool as you know a lot of Hotels and B & B's are dog rough there. I'm glad to see that standards have not slipped at all and I would have no hesitation in booking there in the future. How about trying the Queens Hotel sometime in the future it was falling to bits when I stayed years ago and was covered in dust.

Thanks for showing us the Ruskin, i thought the lounge area did resemble a pub, and its open to the public, so not sure about that, as you couldnt have a quiet drink guaranteed, but its more revenue for the hotel, also looked a tad dated with the pattern carpet and mahogony doors and seats etc, your room was small for a double and a tad pricy, for the time of year. Your food looked good, and a good choice, also the entertainment good, especially the the 3 guy group, he could sure hit the high notes.😊

Always good to hear of recommendations for Blackpool.. but I often wonder... the premier Inn often has rooms at £50... so what do places like this offer for nearly £100 ??? (given you can pick a decent breakfast up for £8/10 out and about)

You said you booked for 1 night I went on the website and u had to book minimum 3 nights stay. I sent the hotel an email and said I wanted my brother to come and stay the 1 night but they said the hotel didn’t do 1 night bookings this was last month. I’ve seen videos on utube of this hotel and they show inside the retreat wellness and spa. It’s all being done up so would be nice to see a video in June when it’s finished. I’m going in October but sadly my brother has to stay in a different hotel cause they won’t let people stay the 1 night.

So they charge less for single occupancy midweek than they do double occupancy?. Thats pretty good, wouldnt happen often that youd be paying less for stating single occupancy as a room is a room and the hotel would be losing out. For a minute I thought you meant weekend for £97 when you said midweek.

Parking: Here at The Ruskin Hotel we have 16 secure garage spaces, these are chargeable at £20 per night. Due to the limited parking at the hotel, ...

Blackpool's a bit of a toilet now, it went off a cliff a good few years ago, I've not been back since 2018 and sometimes would visit 2 - 3 times per year, it's not a Holiday destination now, it's just a rundown overpriced toilet.

Doesn’t matter how good one hotel is Blackpool is disgusting dirty derelict place not worth visiting been once never again it looks like a warzone in some of the back and side streets with the exception of a couple of hours at the pleasure Beach The place is not worth going to certainly not worth staying overnight in. There’s not enough there to see.
