After over a month of hard work, I finally did it. This video took me forever to make, and I'm very humbled by all of you guys' appreciation on my other EU4 videos. You could say this was a love letter to my favorite nation in the entire game, and I'm glad it turned out this way.

Thank you. And not to throw any shade at any other EU4 creators out there, but most “guides” made are for very beginner players, and don’t translate well with average and higher-skilled level players. And on the Europa Universalis IV Discord, the other one that’s not run by Paradox which has thousands of more people on it, lots of the players there agree that most of the “guide” formats, in their words, are for babies. (Also a few of them tend to be annoying/take way too long to explain simple stuff, like Ludi for example. Again: these aren’t my words, they’re from the other players in the community.) Most guide videos I’ve seen don’t ever talk about using trade companies, but instead integrate everything as much as possible, which is how I got an almost 10K income at the end of my campaign and significantly helped with lessening the curse of governing capacity. Siberia is great to start as Russia, and once you make it to Western Europe as you try to form Rome your former core lands of Russia will supercharge you alongside Anatolia and the Middle East by flowing so much trade into Venice and Genoa, not to mention the absurdly powerful goods produced from all of them

Although i watch these other content eu4 creators... i stopped watching one cuz he started using 3d model into videos like an idiot... ludi accused of cheating couldn't apologize, that hawk guy one time was also called out in his comments which i remember quite vividly that he used different version of eu4 since his shitty serbia guide is so ridiculous. Cuz Hungary always and i mean always if you take all bosnia and Hercegovina provinces they will stop being your ally but in his video they dont stop... which changes things drastically... idc about cheating so much as for potrayal of video... im stuck using shitty pc, living paycheck to paycheck and i just wanna enjoy honest videos on youtube, not some weird or lying stuff

The theory of Russia being the Third Rome originated in the 16th century and was based on the idea of succession. According to this theory, after the fall of the Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire (also known as the Eastern Roman Empire) became its heir and the "Second Rome." However, when Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine Empire, fell to the Ottoman Turks in 1453, many Orthodox Christians believed that Russia, as the largest Orthodox Christian state, would become the spiritual and political successor to the Byzantine Empire. The concept of Russia as the Third Rome gained popularity during the reign of Ivan III (1462-1505) and was further promoted by his grandson Ivan IV, also known as Ivan the Terrible (1533-1584). The idea was that Moscow, the capital of Russia, would become the new center of Orthodox Christianity and carry on the legacy of Rome and Byzantium. This theory was supported by several factors. Firstly, Russia saw itself as the protector of Orthodoxy and believed it had a special mission to defend and spread the faith. Secondly, Moscow claimed to be the successor of Byzantium in terms of political power and cultural influence. Thirdly, Russia adopted many Byzantine traditions and symbols, such as the double-headed eagle, which became a prominent symbol of Russian imperial power. The concept of Russia as the Third Rome had a significant impact on Russian history and culture. It influenced political ideology, shaped religious beliefs, and played a role in shaping Russia's perception of itself as a unique civilization.

You forgot the most significant fact - Sophia Paleologos, niece of the last Byzantine emperor, was wife of Ivan the Great and mother of Vasili III (and obviously grandmother of Ivan the Terrible) It's because of her Russia adopted the double-headed eagle as a national symbol and the idea of Moscow as Third Rome was born

@@timoi- Определенно нет. Серьезно, Иван III женился на Софье Палеолог, получил титул Царя (цезарь) и приобретает "неоспоримые права московского государя на императорский престол в Константинополе". Плюс там еще куча танцев с бубном было проделано, чтобы легитимизировать право Руси называться полноправной преемницей Византии

С тем же успехом и Киев третий Рим. +Это Византия после разграбления, и распада. Вопрос , кто передал тогдашней Византии статус "истинной Византии". Насколько знаю после разграбления она уже распадалась на 4 разные империи даже в рамках Балкан. Этот статус третьего Рима у Москвы просто фарс какой то. +Историю пишет победитель и мы не имеем источников от ближайшего соседа Москвы, и конкурента золотой орды. Да и та же речь Посполитая использует эту символику. Куда труднее найти страну без двухглатго орла.

Funfact if you form ruthenia, then switch to muscovite primary culture, you can pick the russian tsardom tier 1 govt reform without being russia. Also you gain access to all other russian government reforms from other tiers as well. So a neat trick is to culture swap to ruthenian to form ruthenia and then switch to muscovite primary culture to get russian tsardom as ruthenia. Then abuse spynetworks to gain modernization, if you play your cards right you can get 100 modernization in less than 10 years. Then form russia, and quickly humiliate a rival or be big enough to have no rivals, and click the decision to get the russian empire reform. This way you can get the russian empire govt reform without needing to liberate the peasants. Then you can enforce serfdom without suffering serious negatives.

@@fish5671 russia has some pretty good govt reforms that are mission locked, and would be difficultto get before age of absolutism. But ruthenia gets them as long as you have the reform progress. It's better to get those reforms as early as possible.

Actually Vasily isnt the Blind, but the Dark, but the reason is right(he was blind). Quite funny fact: there was a dinasty war in Tussia at his time., and three contestants were Vasily the Dark(blinded), Vasily the Cross-eyed(thr name speaks for itself) and Dmitry Shemyaka, which is translated as either "dtessing" from Mongolian or maybe one letter was skipped and he was Sheyemyaka(ye is a letter "e" in Russian), and that means "one who crushes necks". Either way, these nicknames are all quite hillarious, so we cant take the dynastic war seriously when we have History sessions. P. S. The serfdom was made not for Boyars, but against Boyars actually. There were Dvoryans, and they had much less land. Of course, that means that their serfs had bigger quotas than those of Boyats, so peasants tries to flee to Boyars. The serfdom was to make sure Dvoryans have their serfs

Perma claims *are* better than temporary ones, but the modifier from the event entirely negates the difference, outside of the "they last forever" part. IMO, the free diplomat, plus claiming states, plus claims bordering claims more than makes up for "but they last forever", but I can see people not wanting to bother.

As a fellow Muscovy/russia main I thoroughly enjoyed. Horrified by the heresy of not going religious ideas first ( gotta larp and the policy triangle of religious-quantity-trade makes my heart flutter in joy and I just can't say no even if I admit admin ideas are very very good). The serfdom stuff I hadn't considered. I always take early serfdom and use it to get a 1444 revoke on the mestnichestvo system with the free +10 boyars loyalty from the peasants brought into serfdom event before my novgorod war and then just wait for sobornoye ulozheniye to fire to switch after i formed russia, but I concede your way will get the modernization flowing much much faster. To be honest I was under the impression you had to pick either early serfdom or increased peasant freedom, I seem to remember my first russia formation of the patch (which admittedly was not as muscovy, or even a russian minor) firing an event that forced me to give one or the other, but perhaps that never fires as muscovy until you form russia? Or I dreamed it up entirely. Muscovy has been my favourite tag to play since before third rome, I always loved feeling like I was in the corner of the map and I was a huge religious ideas shill back when humanist was considered strictly better. And don't get me wrong I was thrilled with the big buffs in third rome and nice mission tree, but I have to say with domination I have absolutely loved it. There is so much good content for russia and it actually takes a long time to work through it all and it's very satisfying and fun to play. You feel like such a juggernaut going into the 'late-game' (1600's+)Absolutely love the changes. Muscovy = best tag, easy subscribe

As Christ told us, and the Orthodox Church's teachings from the Church Fathers as well, we are to love our enemies, and forgive those who have hurt us, even when we face our own deaths from them. A lot of my brothers and sisters in the Balkans and elsewhere do not like the Turks for many reasons, but it's a struggle in life that we must overcome by forgiving those who view us as enemies of what they have done.

Early serfdom isn't as bad, you will get an event that lets you get rid of it, and it helps with the loyalty equilibrium in the early game to get rid of the bad privilege you start with. Just takes a few years for the event to trigger, didn't check what makes it trigger, but if you do find out, i'm sure it's not as hard to get rid of the serfdom privilege.

I remember how in one of my plays as Russia in Domination i somehow vassalized Livonic and Teutonic Orders by freaking diplomacy and just fo' da' lulz turned them orthodox (say 'hi' to Papa in Rome, XD). Btw, cores of Teutons served me well against Poland and Danish Danzig and cores of Livons served me even better against (again) Danish Estonia.

Став и крестившись как православный христианин за последние 2 года, я стал немного славянофилом/ксенофилом для других православных христианских общин. Мы существуем и здесь, на Западе, даже если наши земные прогрессивные правительства ненавидят нас и Церковь за то, что мы следуем истине и не испытываем ненависти к русским по идиотским политическим причинам. Becoming and being baptized as an Orthodox Christian over the past 2 years has made me a bit of a Slavophile/Xenophile for other Orthodox Christian communities. We exist here in the West as well, even if our Earthly progressive governments hate us and the Church for following the truth and not being hateful towards Russians for idiotic political reasons ☦️ ❤
