The S.A.S. in Nairobi | January 2019

Liveth For Evermore

5 жыл бұрын

In January 2019, four insurgents stormed a Hotel complex in the Kenyan capital city of Nairobi. Attached to a nearby Kenyan Military unit, an S.A.S. trooper was requested to support the Military / Police operation. In the proceeding hours, the S.A.S. soldier facilitated the rescue of many civilians and assisted the Kenyan security forces in neutralising the threat.
This is the only video / documentation of its kind to detail what exactly the soldier done in the incident, using aerial photography and photo and videos captured from the scene.

Every time I watch this video, it fills me with immense pride to be able to say that this man is British. He has done more for the UK's international reputation than any of our politicians could ever hope to do. He has personified the image of The Regiment and he embodies all that is good in this World. Courage, Bravery and selfless dedication to save the lives of so many people on what could have been their last day on Earth.

@Astuteous Maximus uh excuse me ? A little salt ? Act your age mate first of all I never said that the SAS is not good . Second because they are so damn good that's exactly why everything they do they keep it in the shadows . Always in the shadows . If you want to play the smartass at least get your facts straight mate . And don't start that toxicity over nothing . I just said my opinion ( nope ) and you go " oh you salty-accept they are gods " ok man they are:) only them man no-one else . No devgru no Russian SSO no one . Only the SAS man .
@alexkt7142
@alexkt7142 4 жыл бұрын
@Astuteous Maximus The thing is I never said I don't like the SAS in fact I really like then and respect them as all the other SF in the world Every country has their own tier 1 u can't just compare them like you are doing right now. Here u are talking about Hollywood stuff .. If you want to get it there then talk about all the American movies made about Seals don't bring the Russians up to Hollywood we all know the Russians are always the bad/traitors/weak in Hollywood movies:) fun fact that their moto is really against traitors and being bad and weak . The other thing now . No I'm not talking about Alpha team or Vympel or any of the FSB teams . Those guys are sure beasts but they are not SSO(SOF) Russian SSO is a whole different level compare to Alpha team ( or any other FSB-FSO Team) As for the SAS as I said before search a little bit more about them then you'll understand what I mean . There's 0.03% of their operations/missions that you really can see that it's the SAS those glorious beasts keep everything in the shadows and that's one thing that make them be so good at their job . And I'm telling you this again you said salt and whatever you said so please :) don't need to be like that we all can be like that trust me . ( sorry for the bad English tho I try my best to be understand)

@@mac1975 Note how I do not identify the man in the picture as being part of this group. If you could simply read, you would understand that I was saying those groups were present but may not have taken such a forward position, although there is evidence to point to the contrary. My info is also not bullshit given that I got it from Kenyan police press releases, statements from the various embassies, and numerous newspaper articles. As well as the fact that the Australian embassy is less than 100 meters away, so you can inherently assume that their security personnel would be present. If you don't believe me take a look at the Wikipedia page stating what I have said and the corresponding sources. So instead of assuming only you are right, you braindead fuck, let's not call bullshit to quickly you absolute cunt.

They're still SOF, and SOF can generally have whatever small arms they choose. The KDF, while professional and relatively well equipped for an armed service of their size and military budget, do not widely issue this rifle and the majority of their forces use a mixture of older G3 variants, and American M4 rifles.

i lived in Kenya and the Kenya army train based on the british army and are very good . Their soldiers are brave and very capable. The SAS are a different matter all together however... they are the best in the world, my father was ex SAS and we never even knew he was until he died and a whole load of SAS guys turned up at his funeral! SAS reign supreme, they arr exceptionally brave and strangely humble as well.... Just never make the mistake of thinking humble is fear and take one on!!! Oh one more thing my father had some Ghurka in his regiment and he reckoned they were awesome soldiers... Though again I never knew they must also have been SAS!

I think he deserves a Victoria Cross. He had no real requirement to engage the terrorists. He was there as an advisor. He did more than advise, he led. He put his life on the line for a foreign country and a people that weren't his own. By that I mean they weren't United Kingdom citizens. He didn't care who they were. He did care that there was an enemy out there that needed to be neutralized. God love him and protect him fall the rest of his days. No Greater Love does a man have than to give his life in defense of another. While this Brave Soldier did not have to give his life he more than willingly accepted that he may have to to save others.

@RobbingHoodUK the V.C, Is reserved for acts of exceptional Gallantry , whilst involved in a Military Incident. This was not the case here. A George Cross (which he duly, and deservedly received) is the Highest Award (considered equal, to the V.C.) That would/was awarded to a "none military action. I do not agree with the distinction, but i,m an old Brit, who doesn't have a say. WELL DONE! that man!

Roger Courtney and David Stirling didn't know each other, just like they didn't know Orde Wingate. And Delta was founded by Charles Beckwith, who was seconded to the SAS and wanted to form an SAS style special force in the US Army. And SBS being the first special forces? Nope, not at all.

Amazing courage and work! Small correction, the rifle he was carrying was the newest L119A2 that the SAS received as a modernization program of the SAS weaponry, this rifle didn't prove itself to be all that much better from the previous model mentioned in the video (L119A1), they had a 23 million pound contract with Colt Canada who produces these weapons and soldiers are still asked the last about their opinion, kind of ironic isn't it?
