Definitely not a piece of crap. Its just got a damaged motor. Budget build.... it might start out that way. But usually its finished way past budget. Thats if you finish it and its working right the first time. After 2 refreshs on my B5 1.8, it still wasnt working right. With a cracked piston ring i was still 374awhp. After 2nd refresh and upgrades it was 411awhp on pump gas, not E85. Now its on its favorite position. In the air on jack stands. Block cracked due to coolant pressure issue. Its 2.0 now waiting for me to have time. Nothing cheap about this game anymore. Budget is all relative. After its started u either dump it or just continue fixing it. Some how its all worth it in the end
