Known as the 'Saatchi Of The North', Frank Cohen is a human dynamo who lives and breathes modern art. We meet him at a huge warehouse ‘somewhere in England’ - one of four in which he houses his 2,500 paintings. He shows us, among others, a massive canvas by Georg Baselitz, a sublime painting by Frank Auerbach (‘Primrose Hill, 1968’), a work by L S Lowry (who he knew and met many times), works by Edward Burra, and a rare painting by Patrick Heron from 1951 - the year of the Festival of Britain.

What a character. An enchanting person. If he likes figurative paintings, he'll probably like my paintings. I would even give him some of my paintings for free for he to enjoy, haha.

BRAVO 👏!!! FRANK COHEN reminds me of the colorful characters in Martin Scorsese movies and I would love to see Al Pacino play him on screen wearing a stunning wig. I tried and tried to like the Aurbach and failed 😕. My heart belongs to BURRA.

When I hear the names Saatchi or Frank Cohen, especially in the same sentence I know better than to listen to the Art speak.

This woman sure does love to hear herself talk. You click on the video to learn about the art and the collector but what you get is this woman who constantly interrupts and rambles on about whatever they’re talking about so she can validate her supposed “knowledge” on the subject when all she’s doing is brown nosing and pointing out the obvious.

2 adverts every 6-7 minutes. Really spoils the doc.

Most people in KZfaq pay a small fee (Premium) to get rid of KZfaq ads. If you are not willing to pay such a tiny amount to be free (forever) of the fishmongers and the petty-floggers, then you just have to bear the adverts.

Well...I...I quite like it: it has green (life, trees), red (blood), yellow (the Sun, Van Gogh), blue (the sea, the sky too), Mr. Frank is a genius.

@@wordscapes5690 I was joking. I too find it horrible. I was just referring to the "symbolism" that critics find in a particular and horrid work of art. Trying to defend a canvas that most people just find absurd or ugly.

Why do you never see real works of art? Always just this banal decorative stuff! I would really like to see originals by Helnwein, Odd Nerdrum, Anton Hoeger and some contemporary painters from Spain?
