THIS STORY:
At daybreak on Saturday morning, August 6, 1881, a fisherman found the lifeless body of a young woman floating by the West Haven, Connecticut, shoreline. She was Jennie Cramer, the twenty-year-old daughter of a German immigrant and his wife, who lived in nearby New Haven. Jennie's death shocked the city, for she was well known for her beauty and high spirits, especially among local young men.
One of her most persistent admirers was James Malley Jr., nephew of wealthy dry goods store owner Edward Malley. Did he do it?

The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

Ron, I've always wondered about death. In July 1970 at the age of six I witnessed my 10 yearold neighbor who was also my best friend hit by a car on the highway in front of our house and tragically killed. The one thing that's always bothered me was just before the impact he turned around and waved at me as I was standing in my yard. I always wondered if I wasn't where I was if he'd be still here. I'm now 58 and can remember this like it was a week ago. I visit his grave still to this day.

Thank you Ron, for highlighting Sarah Winchester's grave. I hadn't realized she was buried in Connecticut. I'm glad she is buried with her husband and baby. I've been to the Winchester Mystery House twice, and it really is something to see. Sarah was pretty ingenious with her building.
@carolk5770
@carolk5770 2 жыл бұрын
I’ve been to the Winchester mansion & took both of the in-depth tours. Her husband founded the Winchester repeating rifle & it killed thousands in the war. Sara also lost their new born baby, & then Mr. Winchester was devastated!! She had a seance in her home at the time & the Psychic told her that the spirits wanted her to move to California, but a rickety old empty farm house with a lot of acreage, and you must build onto it constantly..every single day, to get rid of the spirits that had died horrible deaths. So that’s what she did. She bought a yucchy house in Santa Clara with lots of acreage & began building & building non stop 365 days/24 hours a day. Sara lived a VERY LONG LIFE, so the raggedy little farm house became, on the outside, a beautiful gorgeous mansion. When Sara died every nail to build on stopped IMMEDIATELY!!! The inside is all crazy wonky…stairs to nowhere, doors that open to a solid brick wall. Staircases that go round & round & round until you find yourself in the same place you started!! It’s crazy!! But if you’re ever there, don’t miss going through it. It’s worth the price, which I forget right now, but it seemed reasonable. The earthquake of I believe 1902, did NOT ruin most the her mansion. It only set a small fire off (somehow) near the front chimneys. It was cheaply repaired & the vine went crazy & blocked the fire damage. It looked beautiful & still does so they let it grow & cover all the unsightly fire marred part up front. The ONLY thing I saw that kinda creeped me out, was a dining room blocked off in thick glass. I looked at the old crystal chandelier & it was perfectly still. I was at the back of the line while leaving. I turned one last time (have NO idea why..) & that chandelier was moving back & forth. The girl guide said “Did you see something?” Before I could say a word she said “You saw the chandelier move..didn’t you?” I was kinda at a loss for words. She just smiled & we left then.

Sad and tragic story indeed. I can't believe that woman would use arsenic to improve their appearance, but then again I used expensive "creams" when I was younger and my dermatologist later told me the only way you'll look younger is to under go the "knife." Well I've said no to that, I've earned the wrinkles, thank you very much. Jennie appeared to be a nice young girl who was just trying to be friends with a young man that she really didn't want a relationship with. I hope she and all the other members of this cast are resting in peace. By the way, I love your Pink Floyd shirt. Keep up the great work in the videos.

Great job on this video Ron! Omg I didn’t even watch the video yet and I am sooo excited that you are covering Jennie’s story!!! I’m from CT and have done lots of research on her story. It is so very sad!!! I even found the sheet music that the young man played at her church service called Drifting with the Tide. What a sad story of what happened to her whole family after she was murdered. And all three or more basically got off Scott free! Evil!! The apples don’t fall far from the tree either as the father of Edward was suspected of having something to do with his wife’s death. There’s a book about this check it out. RIP Jennie and the Kramer family , we won’t forget you.

Printed by M.J. Ivers & Co. 86 Nassau Street, New York" and listed as "PRICE TEN CENTS". I live near New Haven and always wondered what this case was about. Sad that they really got away with it just because they had money. Glad Jennie has her stone . You would think back then with all the formalities of courting etc. young ladies like her would be more protected. The Winchester graves sure are stricking. Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤

I’ve seen the Winchester House and there is a unique story behind Sarah. She was a medium spiritualist that talked to her guides every night to find out what she needed to do on the house. The house isn’t what you would think it looks like. Sarah purchased painted glass from England that was over $1,000 or more for the house. There is no rifle room or gun room. There are no doors nailed. She did have her sister and niece live in the house till they passed. It’s a must see to get the full history of Sarah. No, her ghost doesn’t live in the house or anyone else.

Loved the video n the story, Mr Ron. Is the song the actual song that guy wrote? I'd love to get a copy of it or the actual song if it's still out there. I really hate to let him or his kin folk profit from the sale tho. Ur videos r getting better n better. The right music for the right scenes, the fade in n out just at the right time. I'd say u r now a professional. Oh, n I'm glad u have a lot, n growing, new subscribers n let it be known, u DO NOT pay people to subscribe. Ur one of the honest ones!!! Thank u for being u!!

Hi Ron. I am one of your many viewers. I was in awe when I seen this video and saw you are in New Haven Ct. I live in Hamden-close by. I wish I’d known earlier I would had passed by to greet and meet you. I love all your videos. Thank you 🙏🏽 for coming to New Haven, Ct, to tell us another interesting story. I’ve been there at the cemetery to see the grave of Mary Hart - the pink granite tombstone. May Jennie Cramer (The Bell of New Haven) Rest In Peace. 💐. Ron, glad you were safe in this city.

Ron, I love the history you put into these videos, as well as the other details; in this video, "Under the Elms Waltz" was wonderful to listen to, despite its composer. The history and additional info helps me understand the crimes and deaths all the more. ❤

That poor girl. My gosh, she sounds alot like the way I was that age. I was so overly polite and accommodating to people who absolutely did not deserve any of my kindness and attention. I was taught to always be polite to everyone, but nobody ever taught me that there are devils in this world that take advantage of nice people. I had to learn the hard way. I can only imagine that Jenny was raised in a similar manner. People who buy their way out of trouble absolutely disgust me. There is a special place in hell for people like that. Excellent video, as always.
