Kung Fu Panda 4 marks the end of Po's journey as the Dragon Warrior. At the end of the movie, Po gets caught by Zhen, who swipes his staff of knowledge and hands it over to the sneaky Chameleon. Using the staff, Chameleon opens up the spirit world, summoning Tai Lung and other Kung Fu masters to join her army. But don't fret! Zhen has a change of heart and teams up with Po to take down Chameleon. She enlists the Den of Thieves for backup, and they're all in. With the thieves causing a ruckus distracting Chameleon's army, Zhen and Po use the staff to defeat her. Po lands the final punch, knocking Chameleon out cold after she tries to copy all the Kung Fu masters at once. When the staff restores the masters' abilities, they all head back to the spirit realm along with Chameleon. Then comes the big moment: Po names Zhen as his successor, while he takes on the role of Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace.

Oh, most certainly. And maybe the others could have, too. Lord Shen could have taken a look in the mirror and seen that he had ruined his own life, and resumed his position as Lord of Gongmen City. General Kai could have come to grips with his errs and reformed to be a general that once again would keep China safe.

This movie has major flaws. 1. Po is nerfed in the thinking department, when he used to be clever with his actions. 2. The villains, which was the main marketing got very little to zero spotlight. There could've been an amazing redemption arc for the villains where they could've done some good for once, revolting against the chameleon and her army while po tries to stop her but they tossed that out the window. 3. The furious five just... don't exist? Why? If po is fighting an army why isn't he choosing his friends over a literal theif and criminals to help him. I could've seen this movie being about redemption and second chances but it honestly fell so short. 4. The passing of the torch. Why the fox and not Tigress or even Tai Lung? Why this random fox who tried to steal from the jade palace? This feels like the force awakens with its jokes that miss, its lazy story, and... 5. Its villain. The chameleon has no menace or real presence, her powers disobey the set rules set for them in the movie, and her motivation is... that she was rejected from being taught kungfu because she is short? Ehm, mantis, viper, master chiken, etc. This feels like a cash grab movie on the level of the minions.

I never thought it was very rushed? If you watch the movie looking at all the details with positive mind, you will feel like it was 3 hours. I think I am just an old Kung fu Panda Fan, So i would probably think it was very good but it wasn't worse, right?

@TombofThePrimes it may look and feel well animated, but that's due to its animation staff having been given time to do their job. But the writing staff definitely weren't putting in effort. The movie has the worst villain by far feeling like something out of a spin-off show, terrible character writing as po doesn't develope and honestly reverts a tad bit in order to give Aquafina's character more spot light, the old supporting cast (the furious five) is just gone, and the whole reason for po finding a replacement is because master shifu told him to, no story of po feeling his age or that he himself thinks there needs to be a new dragon warrior, just because shifu told him to.

Here is what they should have done: They should have revealed that Oogway was in fact testing Tai Lung when he denied him being the dragon warrior, but obviously he failed it. However, when Oogway saw Po, he knew that Po was going to be the one who guide Tai Lung to the right path. And Po should have done that in Kung Fu Panda 4 and make the redeemed Tai Lung the new dragon warrior as what Oogway wanted. And for that reason, Po became the worthy spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace because he did what Oogway couldn’t do, which is guiding Tai Lung to a right path. The last scene of the movie should be Tai Lung reuniting with Shifu and Shifu said “I am proud of you, my son.”

I just had an idea…what if the reason tai lung or tigress weren’t chosen as the dragon warrior was the same reason Bucky wasn’t chosen as captain America. A man (or in this case, an animal) who has known strength and power all his/her life (tai lung and tigress) will abuse that power. But a weak man/animal (Po/Zhen) who have not known that will respect and value the strength…a good man. this isn’t anywhere close to canon. But it can have the same meaning here as well.

I wouldn't say this is the end of Po's Journey as the current dragon warrior but temporarily of course. I think his journey is just beginning and there will be more Kung Fu Panda movies and TV shows in the near future of course and who knows DreamWorks might make a spin-off series focusing on zhen po's new successor becoming the next Dragon Warrior and who knows we might learn about zhen's past like who were her biological parents and it would be interesting to see if she was lesbian. If possible of course. But these are just my thoughts of course.

Chameleon should became dragon warrior 1) she always want to learn kung-fu 2) she beat all villians who has being problem to Po in minutes 3) she adapt every kung-fu technique in seconds 4) "never too late to make good deal" as Po said. If he forgive Zhen, why not forgive her? 5) new wartior should be stronger that previous one and chameleon 100% stronger. 6) she know magick and in every kung-fu panda Po win because magick and not brute force. I get everyone's opinion that Tai lung or tigress should have been next in line for the dragon warrior But I my opinion I think it should have been the skunk from skunk fu ( if anyone remembers the mid 2000's show) I believe it would have fell right in as do that show po is very old and wise and the skunk was trained to litterally defeat a dragon it would have boosted the already dead skunk fu back to existence
