The story we'll tell you is not a happy one. We travelled to Kanchanaburi to search for a very dark piece of the history of Thailand. By visiting the bridge over the River Kwai and the Hellfire pass, we get an idea of how the Thailand-Burma railway was constructed and why it has cost the lives of more than 100 000 people.

Thank you for the tour of the bridge. One of our training films recommended years "The Bridge over the River Kwai. The British POW's were ordered by their Japanese captors to construct a bridge of strategic importance. It was interesting to see all the real-life tour you provided that added more detail they couldn't provide in the movie. Thank you so much.

Glad you found it interesting Carl! Lots of British have lost their lives during the construction of the railway in the most horrible circumstances. We've seen pictures of those who survived and they didn't look much different than survivors of concentration camps

For us, traveling is more than sipping cocktails on a nude beach (although that's very important too 😁). So we try to share different aspects of the places we visit

Thanks for a great video. As a military history buff I never thought I'd find such an informative video from a naturist source. Well done in sensitively covering such a sad chapter in our history. Keep up the good work.

Glad you enjoyed it! On this channel, we’re covering more than just naturism. Just like when we travel, we don’t stay inside the naturist resorts all the time. We like to do other interesting stuff and share it with you!

We imagine that few people know a lot of what went on in Asia during WWII. Except for historians and the people who suffered from it

Same here. Out of the thousands of hours of documentaries I must have watched (and hundreds of books I have read) about WWII over the years, I tend to stop at VE day. I do not know as much about the war in the East as I should.😞

The whole area at this time of season (dry season) is pretty sad ... all the jungle almost dead. Was pretty disappointed years ago.

Yeah, that’s the difficulty with south-east Asia. It’s either dry and dead, or green and rainy

@@NakedWanderings Islands in the south look nice in dry saison, too - same as waterfalls in Laos - and Malaysia anyway (a quick shower almost every day).

@@NakedWanderings The train ride is very impressive, with the old bridges and the views over the river, or the other option is with a scooter and stop at the waterfalls and enjoy some people watching 😇
