The sad story behind Mac Miller's overdose. This is one of the saddest stories in Hip Hop.
On September 4, 2018, the incredibly talented hip hop artist Mac Miller would send several text messages to his dealers Cameron Pettit and Mia Johansson requesting to purchase various controlled substances. Three days later on September 7, 2018, Mac Miller would be found dead in his San Fernando Valley, California home from an apparent overdose. This video goes over all the publicly available evidence that was used to charge Cameron Pettit and two other men in the overdose of Mac Miller.

This video is a documentary / movie intended to accurately describe the events leading up to the overdose of Mac Miller and who was potentially involved in the overdose of Mac Miller. Cameron James Pettit, Ryan Michael Reavis, and Stephen Andrew Walter are still awaiting trial and have not been convicted for these crimes relating to the overdose of Mac Miller.

@@Penelopemee Yes, because you're probably understating the amount you do on a regular basis. That small amount grows over time. It always does. Get away from it now. Inhalants especially. It hurts- looking at this comment is like looking into a mirror from a year ago. Don't look back at yourself in the future and wonder who you were with and where you were at the whole time that you were phased out. I'll have seizures from the drugs and lung problems from the whips for the rest of my life. I can't drive a car, and I'm on more than one type of medication for my health issues, and will be on those meds forever to control my epilepsy. It's gonna be your choice in the end, like it was mine. But I wasn't having fun while I was doing drugs, in the end. Maybe I did just try things for fun the first time- but eventually, everything spiraled into a dark pit. The drugs and people in my life made it worse, and I couldn't remember anymore. Honestly, I didn't think I needed to care about my future. I did. Yes. You have an addiction. Fix it now before it ruins your life.

Man, I am 59 days clean today and those texts he was sending reminds me exactly of myself in active addiction. The inpatience and desperation when texting his dealers. It really humanized Mac in a way I have never felt with him before. Rest Easy King.
@voteZDLR
@voteZDLR 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I could relate to it a lot as well. It's also interesting, you think of these celebrities as having dealers on speed dial who wouldn't subject them to waiting or giving them the run around, but apparently they had to play that game with dealers just as much as I did. Where you silently hate them for taking their time but you know better than to get impatient with them lest you not get anything at all. He was probably beginning to go into withdrawals at the time, and he was probably doing everything in his power to not take suboxone because once you do that you're basically going to prevent yourself from feeling the effects of your drugs for at least a few days. So rather than do that, he decides to stay patient but he is suffering all the while if he is beginning to get sick like I think is the case.

I found my son in that same position one night with the empty needle next to him. His eyes were rolled back and the only movement he was making was little jerks. I couldn't feel a heartbeat and he stopped breathing unless I'd push on his chest. My roommate called 911 and in the chaos of seeing him like that and me screaming and crying over him it took her a minute to realize her Dr had prescribed her Narcan! I have never moved so fast in my life and thank God it worked! The Drs and nurses told him he better appreciate that I saved his life that night. I'm so thankful I happened to get up and go to the kitchen when I did or I'd be grieving my son. Prayers for all who are in the depths of the hell that addiction is.

God I remember being addicted to blues, bars, anything I can get my hands on. I would listen to Mac when I partied and got fucked up. In the midst of my getting sober, I ended up in Pittsburgh and felt like I had a connection to Mac. This was when swimming dropped and I felt close to him as a fan. I was listening to his music in his city. Then he died. I felt like I lost a friend but that's what a good artist does .. makes you feel less alone. I'm sober as of 2017 and it's a daily battle but now instead of living in section 8 or homeless, I'm in healthcare and have my own place. Let's keep staying sober and see how far we can all push our limits :)

I was one of the only lucky ones that came out alive from my friend group i checked my self into rehab for the 3rd and final time in a year after years of drugs mostly benzos and dope. But hell you'll do anything when you cant get what you actually want. When i checked in that first week of detox i foundout that 7 of my friends died back home from heroin ods involving fentanyl. One other ended up dying that happened to be my dealer. I just feel lucky to be alive ive never touched it again I moved 1400miles away and never really looked back at the place that held my entire life i started over. Almost 8 years later here i am. Desperation and addiction go hand in hand. Any addict knows the feeling of when the person meeting you for drop off is late or doesn’t show and isn’t responding to texts. It’s a TERRIBLE feeling of desperation. However, once it does happen and you have it in your possession, it’s an INCREDIBLE feeling of accomplishment. Addiction is a constant back and forth of extreme highs and lows. Eventually the highs get shorter and the lows getting longer and lower. Until finally the lows are constant and your trying to find a high that is no longer possible. Addiction sucks but it is possible to escape the game. Very difficult, but possible.

Rhyme. In. Paradise. Mac Miller ✌️ I've struggled with opiate addiction for over 15 years, the struggle is REAL and people don't understand the grip it has over you. I am now 4 years clean and sober & while I'm grateful to have come out the other side my heart aches for ALL my loved ones who've either died (my mom died from a heroin overdose) or are still struggling with addiction. I am currently working on becoming a drug and alcohol counselor myself so I can try to help others overcome the harshest existence I've ever witnessed. Addiction is NO JOKE and one of the best treatment options is for medically assisted treatment in where doctors, counselors and therapist come together to get you on a program that helps you overcome your addiction. Stay strong everyone who is still struggling just know there is light at the end of the tunnel, sometimes we can get consumed with the negative but there is hope. You are NOT alone, reach out for help. Much love ✌️

@@halogod0298 This is true, but many people who get hooked are in emotional pain and are unequipped to deal with that pain. Ideally yes, don't start. I agree 100%, but these individuals reach for a painkiller, it works momentarily and the person once again reaches for the pain killer. Wash, rinse, repeat and soon enough you have yourself an addiction where the ego is tricked into thinking that the genuinely healthy solution to the pain is the drugs. Talk about a raw deal! Absolutely horrendous cycle to be in. I've been through it myself, but thank God I am clean as a whistle now and better than ever before. The thing that bothers me the most with some posters you see online are those who try and be edgy and overly liberal, throwing out lines like 'everything in moderation.' It's a crock of crap because it places the the burden of blame on the addict for being weak willed. Is it any wonder addicts are judged so horrendously. It essentially says 'Yes, you can enjoy all these fruits in moderation and if you get hooked you have your will power to blame.' Such assumptions are so far removed from the cutting edge scientific understanding we now have on addiction, what it actually is, where it comes from and what happens to both our minds and our brains when we consume a drug. I urge anybody going through the cycle of addiction to check out Gabor Mate. He's a true hero of mine. Also Craig Beck is superb.

@PhiLLyRed FTF You’re correct in saying Mac was gonna get his fix one way or another. The key issue at play here though is that he would almost certainly not’ve died if all the pills he was sold were authentic. These counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl are so scary. A friend that I grew up with died of an overdose about a year and a half ago from taking one Xanax bar that looked real but was full of fentanyl. The dealer(s) that knowingly sold the fentanyl laced pills should suffer the consequences.

Mac was only a few months older than me. And after seeing those texts I realize just how lucky I am to still be here, and not dead or in prison. I remember those same exact types of texts, the waiting and anxiety, the irritation in between, the feigning, and everything else. That chase you get into doesn't stop. You just keep going, not worrying about who you're hurting, or anything else. It took me 10+ years to get away from everything, and everyone involved in that life. I've done and tried more types of drugs and alcohol than I care to admit. I've been far lower than the point it takes for most men to kill themselves. I've fought mental health issues, and demons half of my life. And I just thank God that I was given as many chances as he gave me, because I didn't deserve the first one. Almost 2 years sober from benzos, 3 years sober from alcohol, and going on 4 from opiods. God is good, you've just got to meet him halfway. Rest in peace Mac, I'm still bumping your shit.

most people stop giving a pooh about stupid law enforcement snoops who have no real lives. they know that they don't have the resources to sit there reading everyone's shit until something goes wrong, at which point, it probably benefits the victim, like in this case. it helps locate a perp in something more serious than the purchase and use of recreational drugs. the dealers are *people with foresight limited by dollar signs. at the end of the day there's a trade off between convenience and electronic footprint. Nearly everything can be tracked; VPNs and encryption may as well not exist if you're a suspect, but ultimately, if you do things right, there's going to be little reason for anyone to monitor your every move unless someone has a serious vendetta against you and they're in high places.

They also have no idea how naloxone works to block opioid receptors so when we wake the ones that we do wake, half of them get nasty, LIE about it and run off. They have no idea that the naloxone is very short acting compared to opiates and that when it wears off the opiates are still effective. This is the best perspective simply from a junky, because of one thing... We all know like every other celeb that had a funky death to it... I think the coclusions are overwhelming that 1/3 over time, these so called artist/actors have called out their "death" prior to actually dying through movie skits, tv skits, lyrics etc. If you want to believe that they faked their deaths like the Simpsons show predicted, than fine. If you actually believed he died and by OD! Then just think about how this dude literally knew it and most likely saw it unfolding before his eyes either within 24 hrs upon death or after he signed his "360" type of deal... This feels like some Final Destination type of shit.. No way he didn't remember his lyrics about the text and stuff.. He knew.. He let it happen!!!!! That should be the real question going on from here and going by his many lyrics, he never planned to get baptized, aka another foreshadow. He literally picked a eternity of the worst place in any dimension lol... It must have been what he had to go through when he signed to those labels? Go down the rabbit hole and take this blue pill with you... Or else nvm.. Rip Mac you the best, so inspirational!! He rep Pittsburgh from the Hollywood hills.. What a legend!!

If you knew anything about addiction. You’re born you. Caring for yourself your family your job your life your friends your pets your goals but as soon as you build an addiction all of those things slowly become less important and your only care is getting your fix bc all the things that made you want to live before like ur family life ur friends urself ur job all become irrelevant to the addiction. addiction is a disease it’s the hardest disease to break bc you lose yourself entirely. You are no longer you. And even if Mac got sober. The way opioids work is your brain is still altered by that drug that chemical for up to 4-5 years after being sober. If u google and look up how long it takes an opioid user to become “society normal” it’s not just get clean and ur fixed. It’s years before your okay. Take it from an 18 year old who went to rehab and actually got something out of it. Not just sum fuck head forced by there parents or for court. U gotta do it for urself.

Damn dude, seeing how much shit he was copping he was looking for oblivion. And it doesn’t matter if your in the streets or or the hills, the game is the same.

What screws me up is that had it not been for this camron guy saying “sorry I didn’t come thru maybe next time” Mac might still be here. In the end Mac knew this was always an outcome. It just sucks. I love seeing all you guys saying your clean… keep it up y’all. And for those still battling addiction. Try and find a way to test your stuff.
