The Aqua Line 3 of the Mumbai Metro, also known as Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Line, is a part of the metro system under construction in Mumbai, India. When completed, the 33.5-km long line will be the first underground metro line in Mumbai and will be operated by MMRC.The metro line will connect Cuffe Parade business district in the extreme south of the city to SEEPZ in the north-central with 26 underground and one at-grade station.
In 2015, the state government announced plans to construct the metro depot, where metro coaches will be parked, on an 81-acre plot of land in Aarey Colony.Authorities also intended to construct a labour camp for construction workers and a centralised operation control centre for the entire Mumbai Metro network at Aarey Colony
On 16 April 2019, the Supreme Court rejected a petition filed the Aarey Conservation Group, a non-government organisation, seeking an alternative site to construct the depot. The Court observed that the MMRC had already considered alternate options and deemed them unviable. A separate petition filed by the same NGO
While details from the report are yet to be released by the state, it is known that the panel has recommended the 102-acre Kanjurmarg plot, citing future expansion and integration of the Metro-3 and Metro-6 with a common car shed. A state official on condition of anonymity said, “The two committees appointed earlier had not examined future expansion. Considering Aarey is a 30-hectare (ha) plot, expansion will be tough in the future.”

Main culprit is shivsena not just for this project other 3 too 1.Bullet train - land acquisition is slow 2. Jaitapur nuclear power plant project 3.Ratnagiri oil refinery Project - later on it was shifted to Raigad now they scrap the project and tring to create pharm City . oil refinery project was funded by Saudi Arabia . 4.Now they(B*st*rd shivsena) Are opposing wadhavan port project.

You need to get your facts clear...once construction start in aarey..be it metro..slowly and steadily other construction activities will began in aarey area...whole aarey forest will get vanished ..aarey is oxygen line for mumbai...if aarey forest is gone.. All of this is being done after protesting to save the forest there. So, all your points about pollution like Delhi and Aarey being the Oxygen of Mumbai is down in the dumps. Court gave approvals for Aray, removed stay on construction. Trees got cut , they started planting on alternate place. Construction started, then again protest started this time there were some bollywood stars also present. Then after power changed one party's ego become more than development of the city infrastructure which was for people. Their own committee rejected Kanjurmarg land still they won't back down to fulfill their ego. At the end, all polititians , bollywood stars , activists are traveling with thier AC cars and we are still traveling in crowded local trains. Great 👍🏻

@@KejriwalBhakt Thats what you think or maybe majority of us think.. but if we pay attention to the fact that if we have a robust public transport system in first place then there will very few takers for the cars .. and by robust i mean public transportation that's well connected and hygenic as well... This route metro line 3 connects all important stations or localities and would have minimised road traffic.. the same thing was also claimed by the metro authority regarding decreasing automotive emissions.

Also the roads in delhi encourage people to buy new cars. That's not the case with Mumbai. Big story short what i always feel is automobile industry played a major role in our country for not letting people have robust and convenient public transport. @@sanjaymulay9291 They did the same thing with America and the UK in the 50s. The US used to have really good public transport prior to that. Now, you cannot survive without a car in an American suburb. If you want daily groceries, you have to jump in a car and drive for miles and shop in a supermarket. Small businesses got destroyed and walkability is super low. This should never happen with India.

Fun fact is many celebrities who were protesting in the name of saving aarey forests have their farm houses close to the forests. So actually they were protesting not to save the forest but to avoid losing the atmosphere they were getting inside their properties. How many celebrities or politicians who once protested are living their life without AC and fridge.

Information about political condition of Maharashtra For those who don't know In 2014 BJP and Shiv Sena was in alliance and they won the Election and Devendra Fadnavis was made CM of Maharashtra (Both parties were doing good work for Maharashtra Bullet Trains work was also going smoothly) bcoz it was a double engine goverment BJP in center and in state too In 2019 Maharashtra Election BJP and Shiv Sena was in alliance and they fought election on Devendra Fadnavis CM Face (Shiv Sena didn't object to it before the election) people of maharashtra gave them full mandate With BJP Winning 100ish Seats, Shiv Sena 50ish that was enough to form government After election results came out Shiv Sena demanded for CM position or (50:50) 2.5 Year BJP CM & 2.5 Year SS CM. BJP didn't agree to that No one thought SS will join hands with Congress and NCP.. (NCP won like 50ish seat & Congress Won 30ish Seat) Shiv sena was not compromising at all so BJP tried to form government with NCP Ajit Pawar but didn't worked out At the end SS join hand with no.3 party and no.4 party of election results now you should know what happenes when you have 3 party alliance and 1 of them is congress which got lowest seats.. And after MVA 1) delay on bullet train project 2) shiv sena not taking clear stance on article 370, Ram Mandir, CAA, farm laws all keep this MVA goverment in power (SS compromised ideology) Congress have reduced to 3 States and 3 with Alliance so total 6 states BJP ruling 12 states + 6 with Alliance so 18 States

Other parties like sp, mns,mim are useless they just eat other parties votes. Problem of sena. They get only marathi votes. And bjp gets all marathi, gujrati,north indians' votes. Bt BJP never will get Muslim votes(means 15-25% votes and that's the main reason they can't win in majority. So it's impossible that any party will in majority. Just becuz of hindutva bjp lost all Muslim votes. And that's why they can't win here in majority

The only thing they can do is Managing security, road safety, heavy rain and Migrants population and banning illegal slums. And all Govn failed in it. Bjp is working with sena. And before bjp and sena congress was there. No one did nothing. Main problem of mumbai is illegal slums, poor disposal of garbage system and garbage burning, heavy rain. And no Govn is doing that.

First the high Court and Supreme Court should be held responsible for the delay and should be punished. The new MVA govt should also be held accountable and so also every group, NGO, commity, individual should be identified and held accountable and punished. Megaprojects on infrastructure should not be delayed.

In my city Lucknow it covers 25.5km work started on 27.9.2014 and started on 5.9.2017 for 8.5km then remaining 17km opened on 8.3.2019. At present LKO metro train run 25.5km. Work has been completed in 4yrs 5months

Bro Bullet train is useless. They could have started this in other cities like delhi, Kolkata, gujrat and connected those. Cuz in mumbai already metro, Mono construction is happening. Even new rail will there for AC trains. And Mumbai people most times travel to Delhi, banglore, pune, Kolkata, chennai. Only gujjus travel to gujrat. Mumbai like financial capital first should be connected to those cities where people travel most.

@@Dattebayo3089 Mumbai Ahmedabad is indeed the busiest air route in the country sub 600 km - busier than Bangalore Hyderabad. Bullet trains are most effective over a distance of 500-600 km and Ahmedabad Mumbai fits the bill perfectly. It is you who are spreading disinformation.
