I just watched it. Definitely one of tje more effective movies I've seen since "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer." R.I.P., Linda Manz.

I waited months for my pre-order, and was not disappointed. The 4K restoration on UHD is stunning. Linda Manz should have been a star.

Someone left a VHS copy of this film at the first punk house I lived in in my early 20’s. We watched it at least once a week. Eventually it reached it’s demise at the hands of a faulty VCR. I absolutely love this film, and it has inspired much of my own art, from music to film, from prose to flyer art for punk shows we put on in those days. I’m glad to hear it got re-released. I hope to one day make a film that is a even a fraction as meaningful as Out Of The Blue. Thank you for making this video.

Probably my favourite unseen masterpiece of a film. The breakdown of the American family through the destructive mind of a teenage girl.

unfortunately you're right, very few people have seen this movie. it was released the year i was born, but i only just recently discovered it. i thought it was fantastic and very unique. there's nothing else quite like it. i'd highly recommend it.

An incredible film. Linda Manz, in this film and Days of Heaven, is stunning. Hopper and Malick knew how to direct her and let her do her thing (her narration in Days? Too much!). Sad she died young.

I remeber watching this around Tumblr days like 2016, it was around the Harmonie Corine, Chloe Seveny, Gummo art days for me. But I can remember the title song and story was so sad and rang in my head for months.. I then just remembered how it ended 😣

Saw this in the theatre last year because of Natasha Lyonne. She chose it for a special screening and did a q&a afterwards. I had no idea what I was walking into and this film absolutely rocked me.

I love finding films ive never seen that are worthwhile seeing , and im going through a 70s period at the moment, (i know it was made in 1980 ) anything raw or gritty is up my street. So I'm grateful.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. Yes the composition isn’t the best but the story is more powerful and revelatory than many others. Also… kids from broken homes just know lol….

In my all-time favorites, top 5... City Lights Casablanca Last Tango In Paris La Strada And Out Of The Blue. It stands way out on that list. it's a hard movie for many to watch. But it's a masterpiece.

this is a film that i want to see for so many years as i've first heard about it from the primal scream album "XTRMNTR" as it used linda manz's voice from the film film as a sample. i've heard so many things about it as it's a shame linda manz didn't do a lot of movies but "days of heaven", "gummo", and "the game" is a body of work any actor would kill for.

Easily one of the best blind buys I've ever bought. I remember seeing easy rider years before but it didn't make much of an impression to me (I owe it a rewatch), though I did like it. Just reading the synopsis on the back of the box made me interested. I was not prepared for what this was. A incredible, devastating and bleak film.

We were planning to watch Easy Rider but someone discouraged me by saying that the movie is not interesting and it just had the benefit of releasing at the right time. Now I feel that I missed something. I will check it out.

I've never heard of this film before, but I'll definitely seek it out. Reminds me of European socio/class-conflict movies.

As far as I can see, those strange things made of bamboo that should represent cinematographic equipment are very similar to the things done on so many places, mainly islands that were visited in the Pacific by the military of the USA, and where the so-called "Cargo cult" was developed. In short, those people in underdeveloped surroundings became accustomed to the idea that the US military was bringing to them all sorts of thongs that were in no way available to them, that after the end of the war, when the military stopped bringing stuff, those tribes builder elaborate planes, airstrips, wooden guns thinking that by emulating what the USA military had, they will come back and bring those things. So, as I understood the cinematographic industry in the town was over, and maybe people made those cameras and microphones out of bamboo for the same reason...cargo cult.

Easy Rider - I watched this as a kid/teen and just thought is was depressing nonsense.

How is easy rider a movie "you've probably never seen"? It's not some fringe movie. It literally changed how Hollywood worked! For good.
