The only aim in Rust is to survive. To do this you will need to overcome struggles such as hunger, thirst and cold. Build a fire. Build a shelter. Kill animals for meat. Protect yourself from other players, and kill them for meat. Create alliances with other players and form a town. Do whatever it takes to survive.

I expected the ending where we laugh at the guy’s eventual rage quit. Or the ending where he gets revenge raided and we laugh at him losing everything. I never expected the heartwarming ending, where they become friends and he gives his stuff away out of kindness and generosity. This is the good ending. Brings a tear to my eye.

Honestly, picking pecans with your grandpa and the potential for having lunch after sounds really great. Especially for people that prefer to be home or shut-ins, it's nice to have a contrast to the usual. Assuming they have a decent releationship with their grandpa I hope they really get the most out of it. Grandpa won't be around forever, but video games will.

What looked like the most toxic Rust player ever turned out to be a misunderstood survivor of a long saga filled with rage and heartbreaking moments. A story of a man who so desperately needed to take his anger out on Welyn eventually became a reasonable fellow just looking for redemption, Welyn was his Final Chapter. And so as they had a good conversation and he gave Welyn some loot, he logged off, finally finishing his Saga, that was the moment the story was completed, and everything...turned full circle...

We need more of this in the rust community. I am Currently playing my first month long wipe and have been nice to everyone who was willing to allow me and it has paid off. Everyone around me has been raided and my base still stands. I have made many alliances just from talking with people and asking how their day is going. We have to remember it’s just a game and more important is the interactions you can have

Also respect for the fact that he did it solo. He didn't wait 20 minutes for his friends to get on so he could raid a solo with 4 people. Also, I kind of understand wanting to raid Welyn for his mic. I understand that he does it to disguise his very recognizable voice, but other people intentionally make their mics as shitty as possible with software to mic spam and troll people. The mic plus Welyn doing a very obnoxious bogan Aussie accent seems exactly like he thought Welyn was mic spam trolling.

This video was great. I really enjoyed the guys sincerity and genuineness and Immediately after I was kinda sad weyln didn’t say more about how nice he was and then he started going into to detail about it and I was like ah yes. Then I was upset about the 23 min video and then I realized this is equivalent to a hour long rust escapade. The pecans and lunch with grandpa really secured the concordat for me

In a situation where normally people return toxicity with more toxicity, kindness was offered. It’s like this dude was surrounded by a black cloud, and all he saw was red, but once the person he was beating on offered friendship, and he started talking about his grandpa, it’s like the veil lifted along with that hateful rage. This is one of those types of videos that have changed my life. When I see something like this, it reminds me of my own personal journey from “anger issues” to well…where I am now, mentally healthier and happier. We’re all people. We are human, and we have our own problems. Sometimes we gotta get it out, why not let it out with a friend. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk. It was really amazing to see this different kind of rust. I feel most vids are just raids and the path to being rich and powerful. There was still some raiding going on but it felt so different whit this guy throwing all in looking like that bad guy and at some point giving up becoming this man that just fought for what he wanted. It was really amazing all the way trough and i feel sad that there arent too many more of these moments

This guy didn’t insult Welyn, he didn’t do anything particularly bad (considering the game they’re playing). He just got mad that he kept trying and failed. He was a good sport at the end too, giving up without successfully raiding that base even once and deciding he just needs to unplug and cool off, spending some time with his gramps. He honestly sounds like a good dude, if maybe a bit hot headed
