Norman Bearcroft in his book “In Good Company” wrote about the making of this and the what he had done to help with the making of the episodes. Good read and now I can watch what Norman briefly wrote about. Thank You Rob!

Norwich Citadel Corps (my home corps) were heavily involved in the conception of the programme. The producer, Felicity Maton came to one our meetings and was so inspired by the music and the story of The Salvation Army that she wanted to make this series. She became a great friend of the Army, compering several programmes when I was a teenager. I even appear in one of the episodes!

The opening with Norwich Citadel Band with B/M Gibson at the head a super man & musician sadly missed

Bandmaster Gibson was indeed a super man and musician and an early inspiration for me as a young people's band member and budding conductor. However, the man at the front of my home corps band in the credits is Bandmaster Robert Munn, his successor. Jack retired as BM (for the final time) in 1985/6.
