We really just have one goal - to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.
If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin - then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.
Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.
-
THANK YOU ❗️

Staying with a Pennsylvania theme, check out PA Dutch style chicken and waffles. It’s essentially shredded chicken in gravy ladled over a waffle, usually served with mashed potatoes and maybe corn. It’s so good. It’s been a staple at volunteer fire company fundraising dinners and Sunday evening suppers for years here.

It looks so good! I’ll have to try it! At the end of the video you mentioned adding suggestions on what to make next. So here’s mine: Breakfast meals without eggs or breakfast meals made with egg substitutes. Right now egg prices are super high which sucks if you love egg dishes for breakfast or eggs for baking. But it’s been such a great example of supply and demand for my Econ students. Anyway I would love to see what you would come up with for a breakfast w/o eggs or breakfast with egg substitutions 😊

Hey Sam, you should try and make the Australian “Burger with the Lot” a cheese burger, with the standard onions, tomato and lettuce but with the addition of bacon, egg, grilled pineapple and beetroot! It’s a staple in Aussie takeaway shops all over the country. No fancy sauces either, just bbq sauce or tomato sauce (ketchup).

Another puzzled resident of San Jose who has never heard of this combo (thought I’m definitely going to try it! Similarly confused Redditors point to an East Coast Mexican food chain (makes sense given the message was from PA), Plaza Azteca. They describe the “Burrito San José” thus: “One flour tortilla filled with grilled chicken, chorizo, rice and beans, topped with cheese sauce, pico de gallo and sour cream.” So there you go!

Aaaanyway, I lived overseas for several years, mostly in Eastern Europe, and have a few ideas for some dishes for you, especially as the weather gets cooler (at least up here). 1. Chicken paprikash or goulash with homemade spatzle 2. Ćevapčiči (Balkan grilled meatballs) or pljeskavica (amazing Balkan hamburgers) with lepinja (a burger roll on steroids). 3. Georgian khachapuri, either "cheese boat" style from the Black Sea coast or "Imeruli" which is more of a Georgian quesadilla.

I'd love to see you make one of my favorite pasta dishes my mom makes. I call it "pasta with tuna and capers," but it's similar to pasta puttanesca. The sauce is basically onions, garlic, red pepper flake, a few slices of anchovies (for that umami flavor), San Marzano tomatoes (crushed or pureed), 1-2 cans of tuna in olive oil, and a shitload of capers (large or small). When I make it, I'll sometimes add olives (black and/or kalamata) and chopped Calabrian chilies for extra spice. Top with cheese (pecorino romano or Parmigiano Reggiano), parsley or basil, and olive oil. I tend to like it with spaghetti rigati, but any tubular or long pasta shape will work! It's the perfect pantry pasta.

For a rapid fire/quick/easy suggestion...an old snack staple of mine is the humble peanut butter and bacon sandwich (bread should be toasted/crisped). Wonder what madness you could do to take such a simple thing over the top. When properly done (i.e. bacon must be crisp and not soft) it's just a perfect combo; melted peanut butter, crispy salty bacon, nicely toasted bread.

Here's one for ya Sam. Quick and Easy. I'm originally from the Adirondacks of NY, now in CA. Long Story. Anyway, we grew up making a very simple sauce recipe of what we called "Michigan's" (I don't know why). Like a Texas Red Hot Chili Dog, but different. 🙂 Use any kind of dog, but best eaten in a steamed hot dog roll (potato rolls are best). Bury some diced onions and smooth some sauce over with a yellow mustard. Serve with some steak fries and white vinegar. Outta this world. Here ya go: 2 lbs. ground beef 1-2 Tbsp Chili Powder (to taste) 1 Tsp Cumin 1 Tsp Garlic Powder 2-3 Tsp Dry Onion Flakes 1 - 15oz can of Tomato Sauce Frank's Hot Sauce - to taste (sometimes I use Cholula) Throw all these into an uncovered pot. DO NOT BROWN the beef. Mix and cook until beef is all broken up and smooth. Let the liquid mostly cook off. Probably takes about a half hour total. You'll have enough to feed everybody with leftovers to freeze and take out when you're in a hurry. I've seen lots of folks want to doctor them up with jalapeno's, habenero's, banana peppers. etc. Steak Fries with garlic/parmesan and white vinegar or ketchup.

Hey Sam! Huge fan for the last several years. Would love to see you make an east coast Halifax style donair and sauce. If you haven't had one, you'll love it!

55 years in San Jose here. Chicken / Chorizo is a great combo, but it's hardly a San Jose thing. It's like saying fried chicken is a Kentucky thing. But it don't matter - the results look awesome and that's what counts!

Love ya, Sammy and the kids. The cheapest thing I found at the market was 12 boneless pork cutlets (nice thickness) for 10 bucks. A pound of bacon is roughly 8 bucks, so here we go. Any advice for a pounding and a stuffing for said chops?

That looks amazing and I will try this. What I make every now and again are copycat "crunch wraps" . Made with flour tortillas and a hard corn tostada shell with sour cream and veggies and a meat sauce cheeses of course. I would love to see what you would do with this and how many variations you can come up with. How great can you make the little crunch wrap? I enjoy your channel and your family. Keep the great recipes coming! Thanks!

Looks amazing. Would have loved for the burrito to be placed back on the grill for crispy tortillas texture :)

I recently took Bison meat and combined all my favorite toppings on a burger and made the ultimate burger. I used onion bun, ground bison seasoned with just salt and pepper as the patty, bacon, raw RED onion, home made Outback sauce, and deep fried Jalapeño coins like Red Robin (grilled pablono pepper as a optional side stuck to the top bun with toothpick)
