0:22 It's well known that windows reports GiB as GB (base 2 and base 10). It does not have a capacity difference. Windows just shows this wrong. (Google 1.5 TB to TiB for verification) You should know this if you are reviewing storage devices.
@accik8 ай бұрын
Also they can see the capacity right there in the window in bytes (1 535 669 960 704).

I definitely agree with you. This isn't even a review. It's just "It's this capacity, it's this price, it's this speed".

you dont actually loose any storage. its the way windows measures the storage VS how much it actually has
@nadca28 ай бұрын
correct, 30+ year old marketing problem between the data storage industry and Windows. Has nothing to do with this product. even on the video it shows 1,500,000,000,000 bytes.

Yep.. Remember not too old times when HDD has such capacities, and disappointments of people buying a "1 TB HDD" and finding 920+ GB only, heh.

Just a heads up as well: You can actually pull 150 mb/s from this card and many other cards. You need a sandisk quickflow reader or a likewise samsung reader. It is only with these specific readers that you can reach the advertised speeds because it operates in DDR instead of SDR.
@bloodytoad20102 ай бұрын
I tried the reader Sandisk recommended Use with the SanDisk® MobileMate® USB 3.0 microSD™ card reader6 to achieve up to 150MB/s speeds2. Transfer speed is still the same, averaging around 20MB/ sec. So for those who wanted to buy the mobile mate micro sd card reader, you can forget about it and just use a normal usb 3.0 micro sd card reader will do the job.

I bought one a couple of weeks ago, threw it into my modified Nintendo Switch and ran a benchmark, it surprisingly works pretty well. It just gets REALLY hot, so your milage may vary.
@Blitterbug8 ай бұрын
It is exactly 1.5 in decimal TB, which is what the manufacturer uses. But it's a lot less in real binary old-skool TB which is what Windows uses, because in binary, a terabyte is 1,024 GB, a gigabyte is 1,024 MB, a megabyte is 1,024 KB and a kilobyte is 1,024 bytes.

It is actually 1,5TB. Windows displays GiB instead of GB, what is less than GB. Please check your facts next time.
@gatienz4353 ай бұрын
ain't it is the other way around? It is actually 1.5TiB but SanDisk says it is 1.5TB, and windows displays and says TB size. But Linux and MacOS display TiB, saying it is TB

Not enough for 8K, but it should be enough for good 4K recording. My system camera record at 100mbps, which comes down to 12.5MB/s. So if it can maintain those 20MB/s at all times, that should work well. Such a card seems interesting to me, for the purpose that I could have almost my entire databank with me on the phone. But I am not sure if I would actually want to have it there, if getting stolen, somebody would have all of it. So maybe I am not having that much use for it, the main purpose as I can think of, really are people with a large catalogue of games on a mobile system. But even then, 1.5TB will be filled quickly, with modern games taking 50GB+.
@adikurnia53648 ай бұрын
it can't, when got used for quite a bit, because of thermal stuff, sometimes it dipped to around 7 Mbps until it cools down
@KarimJovian3 ай бұрын
They need to start suing companies for falsely advertising GB space. Just make it state what it actually has or make a 1.6 and then rate it and show it actually have 1.49 or something
