Sandlot is a classic. It’s still good today

How can you badmouth The Sandlot? Or the Mighty Ducks? They are definitely movies for kids, but as an adult now I still love them (nostalgia and all that). I enjoy Angels in the Outfield too, even though it's not a good movie.

The Sandlot is objectively fantastic. Objectively. Boo these men who don't like the Sandlot. Dan's right.

"The Sandlot" is the greatest Baseball movie ever made because it actively told a small scale story about the game of Baseball in mythic legendary terms. It's not a movie for kids or adults but all ages and this is self-evident in how the story is told to from the perspective of "Smalls" as an adult reminiscing about that one magical year that he found Baseball but collectively a brotherhood of friends. If you've ever seen the show "The Wonder Years" would you say that was a kids show? "The Sandlot" does the same exact thing but excels in creating a greater American folklore about the sport itself. Babe Ruth, himself, is talked about as demi-god no different than Hercules . We learn through Smalls's eyes about how important this guy is and we see that when the the holy grail of baseballs (one that is signed by Ruth himself) must be rescued from the clutches of a demonic hound from hell (in which itself is given a great backstory) you begin to realize that it's a baseball sports movie told by someone who thought he was directing an adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey. For all to be set right , Bennie "The Jet" Rodreguez must be the one to retrieve the ball but he's so conflicted by the danger posed by the journey itself the movie movie goes full fantasy and he's visited by the spiritual apparition of the Babe Himself giving him some Obi-Wan Kenobi guidance. Enough cannot be said but I'll stop here and say "The Sandlot" is only a victim of the perception that it's a lesser film because it's so often been pared with the "KIDS" film genre stigma.

might ducks is a good example of a kids movie designed for kids to enjoy. the sandlot is a movie designed for all ages to enjoy, its not unfair to call it a kids movie but i dont think that was their sole focus havent seen sandlot in a long time but from what i remember the story telling was top notch

we didn't have a fence w/ a dog on the other side, but played next to the school, so the game was over whenever someone hit a high fly foul ball on the left side b/c the ball would go on the roof

GOD I'VE SEEN ALL THESE MOVIES. "Long Gone"is one of the best baseball movies never talked about.

Love it!!!! Saw it when I was the same age as the characters, not a dad. They are totally right they were to old, and I was a kid, and it was epic. Tobacco and a carnival anyone?

Say what you want but if I'm flicking thru channels and Sandlot is on ,,,,I'm watching it.

Sandlot is a great weekend chill movie. Everytime its on i watch it. So that's a great movie in my book. To each their own

Chewing tobacco sence was great, but the best was the phoney drowning, CPR sence. Pulling of something like that could give a kid confidence for the rest of their life.

Love this, Major League, Rookie of the Year, Mighty Ducks and I don’t want to hear any nonsense about them being subpar or bad movies. You may have the right to your opinion, but so do I, and my opinion is you have no right to your opinion. RIP George Carlin.

Go figure McLovin shooting his mouth off about a movie he can't relate with. How many pick up baseball games do you think he played growing up? Oh and the dog was normal sized it was only exaggerated through the kids imagination. Sandlot is great. Major League is up there also both classics.
