About Sanford And Son: The highest-rated half-hour series in NBC history at the time, Sanford and Son stars Redd Foxx as the cantankerous sexagenarian Fred Sanford and Demond Wilson as his son Lamont, also his business partner in the family junk-dealing business. To prevent his son from leaving home, and bent on having things his own way in general, Fred often calls upon such ruses as fake heart attacks or phony back ailments. Lamont usually sees through these subterfuges, but because he loves his father, he lets him think he's getting his way.

Cracked me up when the big earthquake hit and everything was falling off the shelves, the lights exploding and then when the ceiling stucco fell down with the overhead light and Fred tells Lamont to call the Johnsons back and they can have the house for $1,000. Lamont: "You call them yourself." Fred: "Where are you going?" Lamont: "Las Vegas." (getting Fred's suitcases and going out the door) ROTFLMAO!!

Love this episode especially when Fred goes to Las Vegas and meets Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme and Merv Griffin and then when Fred goes to the fountain to find some money to get home on and then comes home in a chicken truck and Fred has feathers all over him and then when the couple comes to look at the house when Fred wanted to sell it on account of the earthquake and hurrily shows them around by opening and closing doors and Lamont is in the bathroom.
