I feel this movie was a long time coming. This movie is the culmination of every movie, TV show and special and commercial that had something to do with Santa or Christmas up to that point. Every detail in this movie is from somewhere. Also, I the elf up seeing the new Santa have this look of sadness over losing the last one and new hope for the new Santa, despite the fact he has some large shoes (and suit) to fill. This movie was great and ahead of it's time.

I honestly think the old Santa retired after decades of being Santa (maybe Mrs Clause died) or knew that this year was his last. None of the elves seem surprised that he's gone and replaced with someone new, and it's even said that Scott was the best Santa they've had since he took over -- he was also someone who needed the job the most. Either that or the last guy sucked as Santa and the elves were just glad he was gone lol

Now with song we fill the night While magic dances in the light To wish you now and all the year The joy that comes with Christmas cheer Hear our voices fill the air To drive the winter's cold away And so our hearts with all will share The love that comes with Christmas Day The love that comes with Christmas Day The Christmas bells will bring you home

This is my favorite scene in the movie. There is something in this song that reaches deep into my heart, my soul, and brings tears to my eyes. A longing to go home. A return to a place and time long past; far beyond the movie's time frame! This song begins so lonely, and ends in a joyous reunion. "The Christmas Bells will lead you home." I'm ready to go!

The fact that Scott was chosen to be Santa Clause as a child and being the very first human Santa it's clear that the elves started their search for Mrs Claus right after this. Which means that Carol was also chosen to be Mrs Claus and Scott's mate. There was few of instances in the first two films which could indicate to this: - In the first film, we see the elf admiring at the store front window when Scott drives near by. The elves couldn't have known what time Scott gets back home from work. Maybe this particular elf was following someone else. Perhaps Carol? - At Denny's, when Scott and Charlie arrive the elf is already leaving the restaurant. Maybe Carol was also dining at Denny's and left before Charlie and Scott arrived? - In this case there's not an elf involved but when Scott is driving at the highway, a woman honked horn at him and he yells "Yeah same to you! That's not very lady like!" Could've that been Carol who honked her horn at him? - When Bernard gives Charlie the snow globe and then he says "Why don't you hold on to it a little while? It might come in handy" and Charlie gets all serious and promises to take care of it and Bernard even insists it. - At the North Pole after Judy gave Scott hot chocolate they start talking about him not believing in Santa Claus and she says "Most grown ups can't believe in magic. It just sort of grows out of them". Maybe Judy was actually talking about Carol? In the second film, when Scott proposes to Carol Judy helps him out by helping him say "You say this is happening all so fast but you've known me you're whole life. When you were little and alone..." Unless the elves can read minds, how could Judy know such exact intimate details about Carol's life? - In the second film, Charlie had landed himself on the naughty list and he targeted his stunts directly to Carol. His naughty behavior brought her and Scott together. Bernard was so adamant and confident that Scott finds himself a wife in a time frame that he has left. Bernard and Curtis had already known for quite some time about the Mrs Claus and decided to tell Scott when the time was right. Maybe Charlie was acting naughty for a very good reason after all? Maybe Charlie also knew about the Mrs Claus? Just like Scott, Carol was meant to become Mrs Claus her whole life and she was destined to be with Scott her whole life!

When the old Santa fell off the roof and died didn't he have a Mrs. Claus? Where is she when he became the new Santa? Cause in the Santa Clause 2 Scott Calvin/Santa Claus had to get married and find a Mrs. Claus who happened to be Charlie's high school principal. Otherwise he would automatically stop being Santa. So the previous one had to have a Mrs. Claus. They never answered that question in the trilogy.
