Here is a high school horror film from 1978 that was shot on the legendary Zombie Road in Wildwood, Missouri, a city in the far western portion of St. Louis County. The road is now a bike and hiking path that is really known as Lawler-Ford Road and is near the intersection of Highway 109 and Old State Road. The film was a school project that was shot in the spring of 1978 in one hot afternoon and hastily put together and shown/projected on the last day of school with a home recorded 8 track tape as accompaniment. The original soundtrack was a snippet from the beginning of Rush's "2112" followed by Tangerine Dream's "Betrayal (Sorcerer Theme)" played twice to fill the runtime. Here is a glimpse of what the Zombie Road area looked like back in the late 70's before all of these structures were demolished. A half sunken barge that was not filmed was in the river right below this area. "The Satanist" was shot using b&w and color Super 8 film and is in desperate need of editing(!) and a much better, modern transfer to digital. Not the greatest copy but maybe someday. Thanks for watching.
