Yeah it's stupid how disconnected from reality they are. I was never a sniper but I was attached to our designated marksman to do an overwatch. It was unnerving. There were 3 or four of us if I remember so we had a decent amount of firepower but then I got to thinking about it and I realized that if we got hit with a concerted enemy force we'd be screwed. That was the moment I decided I would never be taken prisoner. I wasn't going to be beheaded with a rusty knife.

Well, some snipers have a spotter tho but depends on the mission. Spotters look for close-range infantries lurking and they usually carry semi-auto rifles for multiple close-range contacts and they also carry some support ammo for the sniper. Depending on the terrain, some snipers don't need a spotter.

But other snipers are way outclassed by ARs even on long f*cking range, since even if they take 2 headshots on a lv2 helmet (which is ridiculous but when was PUBG meant to be a simulator) you can repeat instantly. Chances are, you'll hit 2 shots much quicker if your weapon can do it much quicker. lol In real life, hell, repeaters are also better in combat than bolters, but getting shot is gonna incapacite or kill on one good hit by either of em, so a bolt-action is sorta viable for long range, especially if the AR only has ironsights or reddot or something. The whole point of sniping is kinda destroyed by the PUBG meta, which would be, one hit, one kill, they don't even know what hit them.

Yeah you got the snipers role confused with rpg rules. Snipers dont deal any more damage per shot than any other gun of the same caliber. An M24 chambers in 5.56 and will still deal the same damage as an M4 in the optimal range. The ONLY real difference between snipers and other rifles is rifling in the barrel, and that only accommodates for bullet ballistics, not the damage itself. The round fired is the damage, and whether or not your hitting something in optimal range or not. FYI the M16 can be considered a sniper if used in single shot and with a good scope. It shoots 800 meters accurately, which is sniper ranges. The actual role of a sniper is information gathering and playing overwatch for his team. He scowers the landscape when his boys start rolling in to ensure no additional troops intervene or enemy snipers be capable to take position on his friendlies. He guards their lives while they move toward whatever objective they might have. If guns played by rpg rules, the dps class belongs to the LMG. Snipers realistically fit more in line with the magic casting class or ranger class. Shotguns fit burst dps Sub fit the tank role (like being able to carry a shield or something similar in the off hand) The assault rifles are the fill class, they can be used in a multitude of ways and fill for any role with proper modifications
