I can’t even begin to tell you how much this cover has opened me up. I have spent the last 15+ years in a hyper-masculine military culture being told how to think, act, how to be. We don’t show emotion or even talk about them. From the second I heard this clip from the garage, I knew a full release would follow and it would hit me like a ton of bricks. Since yesterday’s release I’ve had it on repeat and I can’t get through it without balling my eyes out. I had heard the original before, but I never connected with it in the way I have with this version. I can feel the pain and suffering through your voice as if it were my own. Happy to say I’m leaving the military in 3 months and beginning a new chapter where I’m in control of my thoughts, my feeling, and my being. Thank you for this one, it will accompany me for some time. 🩵

Your comment is beautiful. Honestly, I don’t know where this creature came from but I feel the same way. The emotion his voice and body convey - if he’s still unsure what he’s made for, it’s partially to do exactly what he’s doing - breaking open hearts with that voice. I’m not one to feel a connection with complete strangers thru the internet but his undeniably genuine, open wound of a performance has left me speechless. I’m a fan. This is seriously so amazing!!!! I have been in love with this song and now I can’t stop listening to your version. It’s every bit as good as the original. I grew up in the 80s and 90s with many of the greatest bands around… Listening to you is like being back there. Every part of this is spectacular. And the vocals… up there with some of the best!
