Today's video follows a similar format to the previous video as it doesnt cover a specific design, but rather TNT duping in general.

Again, the Tnt Duper design I essentially ripped but heavily modified was made by fallen breath. Here is the original video, but there are many newer versions that actually work in later versions.

As someone who stopped playing for a while after 1.9 came out and lost track of how red stone worked, then came back for the nether update, this is really helpful. It’s the stuff invented that is now common knowledge in that timeframe that really gets me

@squibble111 Жыл бұрын
Headless pistons, although cool, their applications reside outside of the scope of tech that I generally talk about, because some stuff is just too obscure to be entertaining to a majority of my audience. Plus I couldn't explain HOW they work very well, even with the somewhat moderate understanding of what they're for and why they exist. There are plenty of other, far more technical channels out there that would do a better job than I can.

Thank you for explaining this, probably the one semi-mainstream aspect of Minecraft that I've just had to accept without understanding for the longest amount of time. As feedback on the video production, though, please wiggle the camera less. Especially with your high FOV, the amount of movement in the peripherals when you're trying to draw a little circle over what you're talking about with your reticle is more distracting than the circle is worth. You can just hold a steady shot over what you're talking about, or maybe you can do a slower pan around rather than wiggling the camera.

Interesting topic, informative video. Great! Really interesting to better understand the principle of it, had a vague idea but nice to know more specifically how they work, especially in the use of redstone redirection for them it seems to be rarely used type of budding but I feel overlooked. Very odd property for coral fans to have, really like seeing how odd blocks are used by redstoners because of their properties.

Great video! I love deep dives into Minecraft's technical quirks, and this is very clear, informative, and well made. These types of videos are definitely something we need more of. One thing I would've still liked some clarity on: why does igniting the TNT still allow it to be moved in the same tick? I think this is the main mechanic being abused here, but it was never really explained, just exploited. One question I still have is: in terms of update order, does the block update have to occur after the piston extension/retraction or can it occur before? My current guess is that it needs to occur after, the theory being that the piston schedules the creation of a Block 36 for TNT and the deletion of the block, and then the TNT is primed before it gets deleted.
@squibble111
@squibble111 Жыл бұрын
I assumed that tnt is considered to be an instant event (though I totally could be wrong, i need to read up on this a bit more) but the generation of the tnt only occurs sometime after. Thus, the tnt must ignite during the block moving stage of the gametick, but the stuff that happens to tnt (deletion of the block, spawning of primed tnt) happens after the movement stage. I could be totally wrong though. I need to check

mojang confirmed many times they won't patch it since it's so deeply in the core of minecraft gameplay and about this next statement i'm not quite sure, but iirc they followed it with "not until we figure out a way to get a similar functionality properly implemented" Which imo translates to: we will patch it as soon as we make dispensers movable by pistons

So, if I understand this correctly, you could adapt this method to dupe pretty much any block that is movable and has a block state change associated that can be triggered by redstone? Or can be changed by proxy of a redstone component? Basically any gravity block? Seeing the explanation makes it easier for me to see that it’s an exploit /bug that could probably easily be patched if not for the utility that it provides to the player community. But it’s also hard to imagine a proper game mechanic that preserves the utility without the cheaty-cheaty aspect. Closest I could imagine would be something like a charge dropper block.

There's a great collection of them on YT if you search for that kind of duper. Thing is, the cheapest I've seen still use redstone dust, so they're incapable of being used in a flying machine. So my question is: Is there any other way to avoid coral fans in a flying duper? Thanks!
