Dustin Daniels is the Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Tallahassee, FL. He is an alumnus of the Florida State University.

The brain is self rewarding for doing good deeds. Altruism isn't real

When you spoke about the animals being altruistic, you described that they help each other to extend their genetic legacy. That is it self is no longer altruism, they are doing for a reason. People help others because they want to "make the world a better place", that is not selfless....they are engaging in certain behavior with the expectation of a return. The world being a better place for them to live in. I do not believe in true altruism, how believe fully in reciprocal altruism.

I mean while they're doing it to make the world "a better place place" it wouldn't necessarily be for them to live in. Altruism would imply they'd die before getting something in return wouldnt it? Very new to all this, sorry if I'm wrong

Thats Self Interest Misperceived as Altruism. The proximate altruism perceived as Ultimate altruism.
