17 days is nuts. I never experienced that. I hit it about day 4 and came out by day 9. Maybe I just felt so crappy before day 1 that I didn't notice mild symptoms lol

I'm going through this now and it's worse than the flu. First symptom was a very sore swollen lymph node. Lasted two days. My chest felt so heavy. I relied heavily on sugars before this. My body is not taking this well at all, electrolytes have really helped though.

I’m almost a week in to the carnivore diet, I’ve not experienced any keto flu symptoms yet. I’ve done a keto strip test and I am in a good stage of ketosis.

It started on day 2 for me. I am on day 7 now and I feel absolutely terrible. The high fat amount really hurt my GI tract. I have no energy and mental fog. I have a hard time getting enough calories just because it is so difficult to diggest. I will try to fight through this but will give up if this last more than another 2 weeks. I am very disappointed because I was already on what most people would consider a healthy diet (no sugars except low sugar fruits like rasberries, no more than 40% carlories from carbs, high amount of omega 3 fats, high in fiber). I expected the transition to be easier.

How are you coming along now ? I had a terrible experience tryinh keto... but my feet are swelling up again from type 2 diabetes... I might have no other choice but to go back to it... i can't even stomach the thought of eating beef or pork again after my experience... i really hate low carb dieting

@@gmarounf7472 after three weeks, I saw huge improvements and also managed to adjust the meals so I pretty much only eat stuff I really enjoy and still stay within my target macros. Now I am on a two meals a day schedule. I usually eat my first meal around 1pm and my second meal around 6pm. I still experiment with some foods, but I tend to go with variations of my favorite meals, so I pretty much always know how many calories I eat. So 2-3 fish dishes, 3-4 meat dishes and about 8 vegetarian dishes a week. I have seen big improvements in my energy levels and I do not struggle with being hungry all the time anymore. My sports performance is equally high or higher even in a fasted state. Blood pressure has decreased from 128/80 to 110/68 and blood glucose is down from 95 to 72. Total cholesterol is up from 254 to 278 but HDL to LDL ratio has actually improved. In summary, I feel better, I am healthier and happy to stay on this diet plan long term.

Good to know. I'm on day 10 & have a migraine and feeling nauseous. I felt the same symptoms about 5 days ago. In between day 5 & 10 I didn't have the migraine or nauseou just felt tired & a little depressed & one days I was very moody.

My symptoms usually last 3-4 days. Hope that's a good thing. I try and drink more water, keep active and increase salt intake.

2300 calories, 260g protein 50g carbs got me into ketosis and this flu is bloody awful shivering in the night, fatigue but I'm riding it out, not the first time I've gone through this, takes me about 4/5 days to start feeling better

For me it was worse than the flu, my headache was so bad that I couldn't stand to have my eyes open or to hear anything, and I couldn't sleep for more than an hour at a time due to the pain, or stay in any position for very long. I also could barely eat anything. Or do anything. I can't be on a diet that does that to me even for a day.

I'm not even doing keto deliberately but only eat 1 meal a day which I have done most of my life. However 3 months ago I switched to no sugar / low carbs and only now am I getting strange things happening. Spells of sneezing for several hours, plus constant runny nose, then it stops and starts again a couple of days later. I blamed it on hayfever but the pollen count has been low when this has happened and I've also had hardly any hayfever symptoms for the last 3 or 4 years. Weird. Colds don't normally behave in this way either, for me. It's also only happening at night. I don't know what to think. If anyone has had anything similar happen please comment.

@@Canbechangedtwiceeveryfourteen Thanks for replying. I went back to low carbs and low / zero sugar, eventually, as much as I could, though I have days where that fails. My comment was 1 year ago, and the same didn't really happen a year after that (which kind of ruled out hayfever). Nowhere near as bad. I'll never really know what caused it I suppose. Someone suggested it could have been like a reaction to something released by the stored fat, and it did make me wonder. I lost 84 lbs in 16 months then had a couple of months where I just maintained, but now I want to lose more, and it's harder than it was originally. The only thing that works is stricter fasting and stricter carb / sugar restriction. Not had any more runny nose issues since though.....not at unex[ected times though anyway.

I have the keto flu right now. Been doing carnivore for about 3 weeks and I started to feel really great the last few days, surging energy and motivation, creativity, endorphins through the roof. Then yesterday after work I started to feel the onset of a flu, I figured it was the keto flu, no congestion, just terrible headache, muscle pain, diziness, then today I woke up with a migrane and fever and just felt like my body was getting ready to expell some toxins, then i sweated heavily for about 2 hours and im starting to feel good again. I think it really helps if you know you're not going through an infectious disease sickness, but rather just expelling toxins. It makes it a cleansing process instead of some unnecessary sickness. Mentality is everything and its really helped me accept this as something i just need to go through once.

5th day. I’m doing 24 hour fast and keto. I thought I was fine until this evening I felt like I had the flu with extreme body aches. I’m going to ride this out but man I feel bad. I’ve been drinking so much water and tea with lemon and sea salt. I was hoping I could avoid it.

I've done a no carb diet in the past with no side effects or symptoms at all. 5 days ago started the optislim regime. Second day I got the flu. I have lost 4.5 kgs. I am not sure whether its normal flu or keto flu as one youtuber said it might be. If it is then its not the low carbs causing it but whatever the drink has in it. The drink contains 19.2 g of carbs. So am doubting its Keto flu.

Idk if I have the keto flu, 1st week of doing keto I felt like so much energy and lost 5lbs that 1st week. Second week I feel like crap, runned over by a bus... I feel like I need sugar, a cigarette and all the bad things....I'm bakimg bread right now.... non keto bread, I haven't decided yet if I'll eat at least a little piece. I'm just tired!

I've been having explosive diarrhea for over 2 weeks now several times a day, and feeling very lethargic, low energy, nauseous, etc. I've been on the diet for a month and had no "keto flu" symptoms until 2 weeks after I started. It's pretty bad and idk if I should stop :( I take electrolytes every day and probiotics/ Also my diet program says I can't have bone broth

My opinion based on my personal experience is: You are in ketosis with a blood sugar rating of below 80mml. I always had atleast 1.0mml ketone reading using keto mojo. If you have a prolonged blood glucose reading of 70mml or below, you are in a higher level of nutritional ketosis. 60mml reading or below, you have most likely been fasting 36 plus hrs. Any opinions?

As the body excretes excess fluid from the kidneys, it can flush sodium as well. It's easily replaceable and is not usually a long term problem. If you're on any medication, please check with your doctor before adding sodium/salt.

you should try eating later in the day unless you waking up at 4-5am give your body atleast 2 hrs after waking up I was doing 12pm-6pm but I would only eat one meal & maybe snack on nuts.. then I went 2pm-6pm
