Thanks Lads and team great video and so glad Rooney caught Skate as well. We hear so much about people suffering from mental illness and wouldn't it be great that instead of prescribing pills they instead taught them how to fish. Clearly Dean;s still got it when it comes to athletics. More please.

I remember catching grayling from a road bridge with a mate many years ago, before Severn Trent decided to flood the river with sewage.😢

I remember seeing this when it first aired but still can't believe you guys were on mono mailine for the skate . Never seen or heard of any anlgers not using braid , seems totally crazy to me . Even taking the slack out of braid over a fish in tide is significant with next to no stretch

I've never used braid, I've been fishing for 40 years.

@samuelgarrod8327 40 years fishing for skate ? I've had maybe 15 years experience with skate from the boat all targeted captures but don't see any advantages for using mono in the situation. The only reason I can see is that it could save rods being damaged when birds nested like it was in this video, but you've then left a rig in a fish ... barbless of course

@samuelgarrod8327 other than price though I just don't see any drawbacks to using braid it's all positives . When you've got a fish wrapped up at 450ft on the bottom in a big tide I'm glad to have that direct contact of the braid . Other forms of fishing, long range carp , pike , catfish, feeder fishing I can see the argument for and against braid
