My dads favorite song, I listen to it everytime I miss him. He's not dead, he's in jail, but he's a nice man:) he's one the kindest but scariest man i've ever known, he showed that he loved us(his kids) as much as he could despite what he was going through. I thank the script for making this song, because now it reminds me that even if my father is not with me physically, he is still with me mentally and emotionally, and he will always be with me through every step in my life. My father loved this song and dedicated this song to my mother, now I dedicate the song for my father.

@@YeeterMcEaterRD hello, his friends introduced him to dr-gs at a young age and because he was going through a lot as a teen he used it as his remedy for what he was going through and got addicted, the addiction to dr-gs continued as he grew up and had a hard time quitting because when his streak gets too long it affects him and makes him unable to control his emotion and would often be angry over the smallest things. Despite that during the days his soberness was not affecting him his effort to become a nice father was obvious and made it known to us. Though a bit overprotective of us, we appreciate that he did his best to be there for us and never left us. He was arrested because a dr-g addict near our place was caught and the guy involved my dad although he already started quitting drugs, he still got sent to jail

This song makes me remember this old man I used to see whose house is at the end of a road bridge over a river I used to cross when going to school. His whole family died from a flood when a huge storm hit our country. He couldn't save anyone from his family, since the water current was too strong. According to the police report, he saw his family getting dragged by the current and their bodies wasn't recovered. Whenever I passed by that bridge, I always see him sitting on a chair outside his house and just stares deeply on the water. He wouldn't move at the same spot from morning to night, waiting and hoping for his family to come home. This went for a few weeks, maybe months, I think? Until we heard he died from a heart attack, while sitting at the same spot where he waited for his family.

I just heard this for the first time a few months after my first breakup and I can’t stop crying. I’ve felt so alone but it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who’s going through it (as obvious as it may be). RIP Mark ❤ It reminds me of my teens and early 20s when I was super emo and in the prime of my mental health state these types of songs would keep me sane knowing my pain wasn't just my own no matter what my pain was it helped me through it the script and so many others but the script showed me that it will take time but I will get better 😊 There was a time in my life when I was in high school in like 2013-2014 where I would listen to this seemingly unknown but talented band an insane amount, and the news about Mark has brought me back to those songs I used to listen to and brought back those nearly decade-old memories and have shown me how far I’ve come from those days. My deepest condolences to your friend.

It was 7 years ago when I first heard this song for an English listening test, I knew what the lyrics meant even as a 7 year old who was always criticized by parents for not knowing English good enough. Now, I got so good that my classmates even tease me all the time for being too good and all I do in my free time now is listen to songs. As I was just scrolling through my recommendations I saw "The Scripts-Hall of fame" and it had 564mil views so I thought why not listen to it? As i was listening to the song I visited The script's channel and clicked on most popular and I couldn't believe my eyes as I have found this song that I totally forgot even existed for almost 7 years. I'm now tearing up from all the memories this song brings back. I just realized that this song was only 6 years old when I first listened to it, now its been over a decade. I know this is a song about a lost love/romance, but this song always reminds me of my dad and our estranged relationship... we would listen to the script together during the good times, and it's been years since we've had any communication. I wish he could be a fraction of the man I needed him to be, but I had to sever that relationship for my own sake. This song just makes my heart so heavy with a grief I can't rightly explain.
