55 year old man here and haven't heard this song in such a long time brought tears to my eyes I'm so grateful that I was living in the 80s graduated in 83 remember listening to this band what an awesome experience totally blessed thank you so much survivor and all the band members.

This is one of my favorite song of all, because I had just gotten back with the one man I loved most after 10 years and several times I had thought I'd lost him for good but just a while before I broke up with my current boyfriend, I found he was divorced and living with his mom so I just sent him a card and hoped I'd hear from him. A few months went by and I had kinda forgot about it and thought it just wasn't meant to be. I had just found out that the guy who I had been seeing had been lying to me and cheating on me for months. I was so hurt and angry that he had betrayed my trust. He acted like it was no big deal. It was just a few days later and my phone rang and I knew his voice the minute I heard it. We laughed and talked for about an hour and made plans to go out for drinks in e few days. I was so excited and so happy to see him. Within a few hours we were back together as if nothing had ever come between us. I was so ecstatic, I was walking on air for weeks. Things were better than they had ever been before. He was seeing me more and calling me every day, he even took me to meet his grandma, aunt and uncle and I had dinner with him and his mother. I found out that his father had been friends with my uncle. I had gone to school with his cousins and his 2nd cousin had introduced us in Junior year of high school. I would run into him and his friends all that summer and at the end of the summer we ended up at the same party and by the end of the night we were together. We were both very happy the first 6 months in spite of several obstacles. I loved him more than I thought possible and he said he loved me and couldn't wait to marry me, that I was the best thing that ever happened to him. I guess we were star crossed lovers that just weren't meant to be but I don't regret a minute and I 'd give anything if things had turned out differently. He and I broke up up a little over a year later and 12 yrs after that he had drank himself to death at 44 yrs old and 3 months. I will always love him and miss him.

Thanks to this song I don't feel alone anymore. He was basically saying he was staying true to his feelings and follow is dreams and way of life which was separate from finding love, while all along he had this awesome woman in his life who he realized was the love of his life.
