@@Sandro_xiihonestly we kind of do. Leonard Williams, Jarren Reed and Byron Murphys stack up with Madubuike, Washington and Pierce. We got Dre’Mont Jones to be like Clowney plus Nwoso and Mafe off the edge. Two speed linebackers in Dodson and Baker to match Queen and Roaquan. Witherspoon and Hamilton are different but both very versatile. Marlon Humphrey is definitely better the Riq but our secondary has potential. This could be a stellar defense.

I think this is a pretty solid analysis. They're going to be moving in the right direction. I mean, I loved Pete Carroll because we got our super bowl victory and the teams were rarely boring (even if aggravating at times). But the time for change came and I think they got the right guy. As far as Geno goes, I suspect he'll have another very solid season and much like Drew Lock, I feel Sam Howell could be a very decent backup should Smith miss any time. Not sensing a QB controversy. But the main "win" for the season would be the defense becoming adequate to pretty good. The last couple of years were rough to watch.

Being a Seahawks fan for the last couple years has been frustrating to watch a team you know has so much talent constantly choke up in the middle of the season and lose games they have no business losing. It is probably going to be a rough couple years between getting into the new coaching staffs groove and developing our new players but after watching an OC who seemed allergic to any passing play that had a checkdown option (or any short pickup yards for that matter) and a defense that seemed to put all its stock into its star rookie cornerback and hope for the best it is hard not to be excited for all the changes. I know people wanted an offensive minded head coach, but our defense desperately needed to be addressed and I'm glad that looks to be the case. I just hope we don't go through our usual mid season slump like we have the past couple years.

it’s amazing how you can correctly point to how terrible our Defense has been the past few years on one hand while failing to acknowledge how such a historically bad defense affects the offense in general and the QB specifically. When a QB is both running for his life AND needing to score 30 plus points a game it’s pretty obvious how that screws up QB play. Give Geno our two young tackles back healthy and improve the middle of the Oline WITH a defense that can hold teams to even average success and watch Geno kick some NFC WEST tail!

It's a lot easier to run an offense when you aren't behind 24-7. Teams now have to defend everything instead of 1 thing. It makes a huge difference. The other team has the ball for 8 minutes. Then if you punt one your first drive the team has it for 8 more minutes. Even the best offenses in the NFL don't score every drive. You can't have the defense give up 8+ minutes scoring drives 90% of the time. You aren't winning many games if your offense has the ball 25 minutes a game. Which was Seattle last year.

Between 9-8 and 12-5, but most likely 10-7. Outside of MLB, there weren't really any downgrades. Safety got cheaper and better, kept the big pieces on the DL together, and upgraded at OC, DC, and HC. These Seahawks are getting underestimated because they went with a DC for head coach in an era obsessed with offense despite 3 of the 4 teams in the conference title games having top five defenses. The big weakness on the team, Oline, is getting a coaching upgrade with Huff and Grubb. I don't think Super bowl this year, but unless the hires somehow flop, I see 7th, 6th, or 3rd seed (if the 49ers' health tanks. Rams are getting a lot of love for a team with an injury prone QB and a defense without its one superstar. I highly doubt the Rams are winning the division this year barring injuries) as probable outcomes.

My 49ers have a much harder now than everything for to make it back to the super bowl of one of those obstacles will be the Seattle Seahawks

It was frustrating when it seemed the Rush was beating the ball to Geno from the snap! Oh and when the O-line is ranked 30th, without significant help, things are not going to change much. Bobby helped with the run last year but he gone now, so for me, it is an unknown.

As a Defensive coach and former DB. The HORRIBLE GAP FITS at 2:25 is infuriating, as a dolphin fan I was hoping that we look at their safeties for our defensive backfield but after that one play no wonder they're both still free agents. Jesus that was bad 2:41, Brooks what are you reading. You get a drive read by the line man. Hit the B gap (YOU LITERALLY STANDING IN IT). force the Motion man to make a block and you have a fill safety as free hitter with the back having no were to go

If you hate yourself you should watch this defense vs the Steelers last year. Wanted to pull my hair out. Convinced that's the game that lost Pete his job. Very poorly coached team last year.

Key word building a great team 2025 nfl draft will be key also for the future. Seahawks go 9 to 10 wins this season its a success due the rookie hc and its coaching staff etc. Go hawks!!

They have a rookie defensive coach, a iffy high potential o-line, good rb room, great receiver core, and the definition of MID at qb, and the defense will most likely be as good as its coach, I do think they’ll be a mediocre team and finish anywhere between 7 and 9 wins. I believe Howell is the future and they’ll start him when they get eliminated from the playoffs and then the 2025 season. It’ll be a very fascinating team to watch.

@@jamess2664 if you think that you only look at his stats and not him he biggest issue is he holds the ball to long that can be taught out of him. He has a excellent arm and above average accuracy he is young he’s only 23 and is going into his 3rd season let the dude play if he’s not the future they wouldn’t have given up a 3rd

Seahawks offensive line was terrible last year and so was their defense. Yet, Geno still led five 4th quarter comeback wins. Geno only looks mid if you look at his box stats or fantasy numbers last year. 2023 Geno was truly let down by his defense and offensive line.

@@jamess2664 Sounds like what everyone was saying when Seattle drafted Wilson and had Flynn as the starter. There was no future QB on the roster. Howell showed flashes. He has the arm talent. Will he ever learn that every throw doesn't have to be a homerun. That's the key with QBs. Take what the defense gives you and don't turn it over. Howell is still very QB. He wasn't a finished QB coming out of college. Washington wasn't the best place to be last year. Howell could be a total waste as a QB. Or he just could be the guy. You never know. NE didn't have a QB on the roster either. They had a horrible 6th round pick no one wanted to draft. No one thought Brady was any good either. He turned out pretty good. Purdy up to this point looks pretty good. No one thought he was going to be anything at all.

I believe had Penix or McCarthy been available to Seattle in the draft, then Murphy would not be a Seahawk. Therefore, no QB controversy. Seattle will draft a QB, but until they do, Geno will remain the starter with Howell as the backup, baring injuries, of course.

Geno Smith is pretty average but they have the luxury of being in the NFC, which is about as big a luxury as you can have next to having Allen or Mahomes as your QB.

You have to remember k9 and Charb had Waldron as their play caller and he was atrocious last season. Hopefully grubb uses them correct cause they can be the best rb duo in the league if they’re used right.

Pete Carroll had flaws but he got his teams ready to play. Incredibly enthusiastic personality and that will be missed, even if Mike McDonald has a better handle on modern defenses (which may or may not prove true). I havent seen a deep dive on which pieces under carroll dont fit as well in a mcdonald defense but there will be fallout. Even when all of that is sorted out, as long as the qb position is a bandaid, this team aint gonna win anything special. Those are the first tier challenges imho.

This is exactly what infuriates me with Seahawks fans in social media. Every comments just focus on Geno and that we need a new QB, yet no one mentions our run defense which is pretty much the worst in the NFL. We just can't stop the run no matter how hard we tried and it's been this way for the past 2 years. 😂

Don't count chickens. Good players and a first year head coach don't line with 'great' just yet. They'll be tough just because of sheer roster talent but no one knows how well the team will mesh, what the culture is or if there even IS one.
