Shion’s presentation is honestly something I’ve been greatly looking forward to the anime adapting. I can only imagine how much better it will be in animation than written form. === I hate that Kaoru Yoshida’s proper introduction was cut from Season 1. It just makes it more irritating that he’s being put back in even if he’s a minor character. Yoshida is a Stray (an Otherworlder who just randomly ends up in this world, ex. Hinata; not sure why he was called a reincarnation) who was suddenly transported to another world without being summoned by anyone. Despite being in another world, he still continues to pursue his passion of baking cakes and other confectioneries to the best of his ability, although the lack of materials and ingredients made him unable to produce many things which he desires to create. He managed to open up a shop in the capital of Engrassia. Yoshida would often receive visits from Rimuru while he worked as the teacher of class S during his visit in Engrassia. His talent for baking was so good, that the Empress of Thalion tried to invite him as the appointed patissier of Sorcerous Dynasty of Thalion. Despite being offered a lot of money, he turned the offer down. Instead, he simply received financial support in exchange for some food offerings. His shop was often frequented by the Grandmaster of the Free Guild and Hinata the Saint which also boosted its popularity. Trivia -The name "Kaoru" means "fragrance/fragrant" ｢薫, kaoru｣. -Kaoru's surname "Yoshida" means "lucky/good" ｢吉, yoshi｣ and "field/rice paddy" ｢田, da｣. === Monster poaching and slavery is unfortunately common with Dwarves and Elves being in a gray area due to Demi-Human rights or lack of. Last episode even briefly mentioned these topics with Damrada and Yuuki's discussion. === Fun Fact: Gard Mjöllmile came to worship Rimuru as a god after Rimuru saved his life from the Sky Dragon back in Season 1. Replacing Rimuru's bat wings with angel wings in the painting may have made this obvious but I’m pointing it out just in case since the Light Novels outright spell it out.
