At 28, Yariv Mozer is suddenly drafted as a soldier in the Second Lebanese War between Lebanon and Israel. Instinctively, he grabs his video camera and threads a shoelace through the handle, securing it around his neck and next to his rifle. As the days drag by, he begins to realize how unplanned the war is and how each of the those who serve and survive pay a price. This is his personal earthquake and the nation of Israel as a whole.

Great documentary - thanks for uploading. I've been to the area from both sides of the border mentioned in the film (it was a lot more peaceful back in 2002 - trust me) and can attest that it is indeed a very beautiful part of the world.

One of the problems with this story is it does not tell why the Israelis are in Lebanon. I had read a book about this. It helps if you have at least some analysis. The complexity of the Middle Eastern conflicts have a basis and reason.

I mean, there is plenty of other documentaries and books that talk about that, In fact every single peace of information (even more with the events of october and what is happening now) try to give context about the conflicts. Yeah this documentary is about war, but I think it is trying to tell a story more than giving plain historical facts

Israel was in Lebanon because it wanted to annex parts of Southern Lebanon in a quest for their "Greater Israel" project.

It is amazing how Israelis who are settlers, can travel through the occupied territories (occupied since 1948 and 1967....a LONG while back) with such ease and the Palestinian natives to the land, get stopped at the Israeli (occupiers) checkpoints and get humiliated and delayed by the occupation forces. I don't know if Israelis are aware of what they are doing. I am not sure if they realize the hatred that they are creating. Hatred will only lead to war and conflict. Who benefits from war and conflict? Only the military industrial complex in the US benefits.

Why this war? Why is the occupation still going on after 75 years and the Palestinians are not allowed to return to their homes? Why are the Israelis building settlements on Palestinian land and claiming that God promised them the land? That is a crazy reason to colonize the land where the Palestinians have been living for generations. This war after war scenario will not end as long as Israeli continues to act as if they are the victims.

I didn't know which side this story was going to be about - Lebanon or Israel. But right at the opening when the narrator says he was called in as replacement for a soldier who had chickened out, I knew this was the Israeli version of accounts. As we've seen for these 9 months, the IOF is the cowardliest army ever. They lost the 2006 war with Lebanon and every war since then, including this most genocidal war of all.

The tree on their flag is the symbol of Christmas tree.
