@@BackFishing Just did some digging just so we are clear of what is legal and is not legal hook set. On page 19 of the WA area rules pamphlet, under the “tackle” section, “it is unlawful to possess a fish taken from freshwater that was not hooked inside the mouth or on the head. The head is defined as any portion forward of the rear margin of the gill plate.” Therefore, the fish caught perfectly legal. Again, thank you for watching and have fun fishing!! The state record chinook was 62# and it came from the elochoman river ..I personally caught a 52# there years ago when the hachery still produced fish .

A lot of guys use custom built surf rod around 11-12 feet. The particular surf rod that I used in this video is the factory built Shimano Speedmaster 12 feet.

I was using Shimano Speedmaster surf rod, 12 feet. Weights between 8-12 oz. but it really depending on the current flow on the day.

Yea I'm trying build a rod for the big C. Can't decide on a blank though.
