btw be careful when taking advice from a "sponsored advice" like in this video...ask any licensed financial planner, they will tell you this: You should never take insurance plan that mixed with "saving"...you will get better return when you invest/saving in other platform like ASB & EPF...unlike what was "advised" in this video

Very true, the insurance everyone need is medical card and death. Medical card to offset ever-rising medical cost while death is for covering your liabilities such as loans in case of sudden deaths so it won’t burden your fam. Is better off investing in bonds or others to save up your money.

@@NivlaGnofthat's why EPF money is for retirement and other specific purposes. We need to set aside money for other things that we need to pay and save money for emergencies and things that we know we have to use money for later (sinking funds). Before complaining about EPF money being locked and cannot be used to cover our debt holes, we should be able to afford the debts in the first place without the money contributed to EPF. Smart people will know this and will not even think to debate about it.

Singapore govt implement work-from-home for public sector and pushing private sector do the same. Main intention is to boost birth-rate. Msia govt should consider the same. Imagine if either mom or dad can wfh a few days to spend more time with children. Should help a lot.

A better term to use is "birth rate has been declining" than "population has been declining" in Malaysia.
@glorialoo6849

Declining population is due to the fact that things are too expensive and the government is not helping much to non’s. Many have to leave family in Malaysia to work elsewhere and this does not help with ‘family’ bonding at all. So can’t blame the younger generations for not wanting kids or only 1-2 kids !
@Arterexius

Declining population is worldwide, not just Malaysia. The population is declining in Scandinavia too, despite Scandinavia having some of the best welfare systems in the world, with the highest degree of help.

We need government to focus more on economic growth and lesser benefits. If government keeps expanding benefits, the younger will suffer in the future.
@Arterexius
@Arterexius Жыл бұрын
@@qihengchoo4574 How the hell will the younger suffer in the future, from getting benefits that allow them to actually participate in society? The entire purpose of the Scandinavian welfare systems is Economic growth and given how bloody rich Scandinavia is, it shows how efficiently it works. It took us less than 100 years to go from industrial revolution level poor class, to a poor class today which is still richer than several European countries middle class. Less than 100 years. Welfare isn't a waste of money. Welfare is 100% economical, when done like Scandinavia
@qihengchoo4574
@qihengchoo4574 Жыл бұрын
@@Arterexius So where are the money from? Why they can have the best welfare system? That’s why I said our government needs to focus more on economic growth. If governments have no sufficient fund to sustain the aged population, what the government will do? The government will tax the rich and the younger.
@Arterexius
@Arterexius Жыл бұрын
@@qihengchoo4574 Taxes of course and primarily taxes on the rich. Taking from the rich and giving to the poor in order to support a larger middle class, which increases the spending within both the local and the global economy, which increases economic growth, while simultaneously using the earnings from taxation to also improve education, which makes each new generation smarter than the previous, which in turn allows the industries to create even more complex products, which then makes the country worth more for foreign investors, further increasing the economic growth of the nation, making the industries more likely to increase wages for their middle class workers, which further increases local spending. The Scandinavian welfare systems literally follow the economic model of a global corporation. I honestly don't get how you can see that as a bad thing.

What's wrong with working after 50 or 55? People are living longer and having more years of no income. The government need to encourage employers to open up flexi hours.

If we are too rash to chase "modernisation" and accept western liberal ideologies, yes, we will definitely experience a decline in population growth. It will first start with increased divorce rates, and then problematic generation and crime rates, and then we see the aftermath. It is better people practice their religions and uphold traditional values that is proven to work throughout the ages. Yes we should embrace innovations and technologies, but at an affords me pace. For me personally, Malaysia is at a turning point. We can learn from first world countries mistakes or repeat the same mistakes. From what has happened previously, we usually learn from other countries because we have people fighting for the stability of the country, to go back to its roots.

Even with declining birth rate, UN says in 2050 we will be 9.7 billion population with lesser resources. This is about 40% increase. Meaning a lot more people are competing for the same resources hence world crisis like water, food, air, war, and mass migration will be more concerning than anything else. That's probably the actual cause of inflation today around the world, cause resources is getting scarce.

most of the growth is concentrated in africa. most developed or developing world, except for the middle east sees demographic growth below 2.1 tfr per woman, africa even if the population growth high, economic growth had always been slow and heavily relied on resource export/exploitation. commodity trade is very very hard to predict, ask an oil trader. Stocks you have P/E, oil? that being said, this vid is correct, we're facing a demographic crisis. That's why Russia is being Russia, to close their geographic "problems" before Russians are aged out and not enough young Russian for red army. Demographic move 2 ways, stupid slow, and stupid fast. You didn't realized you're in a crisis, until the crisis hits, by then it's too late. Heavy consumers are aged 30~45, enlighten me, how long do you need to raise a 30yo? 30years and 9months.

some of those resources need to be harvest by productive worker. With lesser productive worker...the lesser resource get harvested. Some people will said yes we can use machine or robot. I agree to some level about demographic crisis but it is the least of our worries. Let's go back to the most basic stuff, oxygen will be shared among more people that means you'll get 40% less oxygen in 2050 than we have currently. So a lot of us will not be able to do heavy exercises like we used to. The same goes with food and water, when things become scarce then war and mass migration will be inevitable. it's already happening in some level right now.

@@roybenedict9045 i bet you differ, when Russo-Ukraine war happened last year, we thought oil price will skyrocket to $250/b, since we taken out Russia's 10mil bpd of oil with boycott. months later oil price collapsed to lower then pre war level of $75/b. 10mbpd of oil taken out! and we found ways to replace, and europe didn't suffer apocalyptic winter. natural resource are plenty, we'll probably have more then enough for population to double. Need to understand we're not just giving birth, we'll die soon too, and we won't consume anything when we die. 2nd did you know Malaysia had been negative migration since 2018? 2018 Malaysia have 3.2mil migrant, today we have 2.4mil, source DOSM. why? since Indonesia is growing, most of them return to Indonesia. Other then Russo-ukraine war, where else? most wars are small and have been happening for years, with or without population as it's centre.

@@orionfalcon3539 People are living longer than before hence the population growth. You think our food is still nutrituos today, think again. Later on food security will be in questions then war will errupt, and mass migration like the Rohingya people will happen but it'll be on a much larger scale than what we see today. Clean water will probably be an issue moving forward. A whole new sets of problem will come faster than we can solved it if population continue to grow.

If Malaysia on track of negara maju, eventually why not? Education is the best contraceptive. Not to say which is better here, actually just an inevitable phenomenon as we looking more into life style and such. If we shifting towards quality job and higher income, the nature of such job don't even require high amount of labor in first place. Resources doesn't increase, just changed in form factor. From many people but get little to little people but get many.
