Thank you all so much for the support for both of us. It truly means the world to us. You have been such a supportive community. Seeing the outpour of love and and encouragement, it is truly overwhelming in the most positive way. Thank you for listening to our story. I hope this gives a little window behind the scenes and how difficult things can be for us both while I suffer with this condition. You are all so important of Bentley's passion and drive to keep going in this hobby and I could not be more proud. Thank you all.

I am so sorry, Bentley. Trigeminal neuralgia is a devastating and horrific condition, for the suffering and their loved ones. I worked with a lady that has a daughter with trigeminal neuralgia and she showed me a video of her daughter having one of her attacks. She showed me this video, not to make a spectacle of her daughter, but to throughly explain what happens and to spread awareness. I never forgot that video. It broke my heart at how truly awful this condition is. You and your wife are in my prayers and I'm sending healing vibes. I'm so glad you have your fish to bring you peace and beauty. ❤

Bently your support means EVERYTHING to her! I had a disabling neuro pain disorder. At age 25 I asked my doctor to remove my right leg. He wouldn't. I was blessed to eventually have the level of pain reduce itself (miracle). Yes, suicide is common. I, like her, have people to live for. Your loyalty, and ability to adjust to her needs is what will keep her going. Praying for her healing!!! 🙏P.S. I never believed in chiropractic medicine. It ended up helping me. Any pain/sympton reduction is a huge blessing. Oh, I'm in my sixties now. Keep the faith!!!

My heart pours for y'all. My cousin just recently passed away from a 30 year run of undiagnosed/unknown severe pain issues. Her parents and sister stayed with her and had to tend to her 24/7 to give her as much comfort as she could till her body gave out. They tried everything, but noone could figure out what it was. I absolutely understand what it takes to comfort someone in a time of need like this. Absolutely keep looking at the positive. We'll be praying for y'all!

I fell and experienced whiplash a few years ago and have had nearly constant neck pain that has resulted in a huge number of severe headaches originating from the back of my skull that I'd just accepted as my 'new normal'. Your description of the Occipital Nerve struck a cord with me and after looking into it, I've got a lot to think about. The symptoms list of Occipital Neuralgia just reads like bullet points about the worst part of my life and reading about it has made me feel 'seen' in an unbelievable way. Thank you. Seriously. Thank you. Telling your story is the reason I will know what to bring up to my doctor with specificity beyond "headaches" and maybe experience some relief in the future. I never expected this while browsing fish videos.

Thanks for sharing, I know that couldn’t have been easy. I’m so glad she’s found something to keep her going because as a person who suffered from chronic pain as a child I know just how important finding that thing is, for me it ended up being training and showing dogs. Also you’re awesome and I’m sure your support means the world to her! Having my mom there to advocate and be my memory and words at doctors appointments for me when I was in too much pain or too exhausted to do it myself meant the world to me. Honestly the only thing that got me through that time in my life was my dogs and my mom. Chronic pain is awful and it’s so discouraging when one doctor can’t help so sends you onto the next. I want to encourage you both not to give up on that hunt for relief though. It took 8 or 9 years to finally be diagnosed and it was the doctor who I vowed would be the last I’d “waste my time with” who finally put all the pieces together.

Thanks for sharing. Dealing with chronic pain conditions personally, and my spouse. I have a damaged spine and reactive arthritis. When it flairs up it’s crippling and I can’t do anything without help. My whole body swells at every joint. Spine, knees, fingers, etc. fortunately for me there is a medication which works, but it is extremely expensive even with insurance. My spouse has a nerve disorder where her body is constantly sending erroneous pain signals to her brain. She has a very good specialist, also extremely expensive, and gets to participate in a lot of trials and studies. There’s no known cure and varying levels of efficacy in treatment plans. The mental health aspect of dealing with chronic pain is such a hugely overlooked aspect, and though people might empathize, there’s no way for them to fully comprehend just how difficult life becomes. Just getting out of bed to face the day is a huge accomplishment knowing that it will only bring suffering and pain. That wears on even the strongest fighter.

So sorry to hear that. My wife has got a facial neuralgia during her pregnancy. She couldn't blink and suffered by pain. It was 11 years ago. Happily one of my relatives practices traditional Chinese medicine. He provided a course of acupuncture for her. All of her face was covered by pins, some of them with smoke. I don't know how exactly it called. Also he put the pins along the spine. I don't remember exactly, but it was about 10-15 sessions. and in every session was some different disposition of that pins. She also takes some medicines via dripping system. The course was about a month. So she was healed. Besides of that I strongly recommend you to learn about carnivore diet. Many many neurological problems could be eliminated with strict course of that diet. I'm sorry for my poor English. Thank you Americans! Kind regards from Ukraine.

Bentley, as someone who is a sufferer of a rare disorder that causes insurmountable pain as well, please know you guys aren't alone. I've got such a rare disorder that there is no research, no treatments, no cure. I suffer from many of the symptoms your wife does and I totally understand the suicide nickname. It flipping sucks!! I'm in the same boat as well, with surgery being super risky and only having a 30-40% success. It feels like, sometimes, there's no hope and despair will rule. But please know, it might not get better overnight, but there are and will be good days! You do you, you totally and completely deserve to take time to keep your family together and enjoy what you can. Thank you, really, seriously, thank you for sharing your guy's story. It always helps to know there are people out there that understand and support you, even from afar. You guys are awesome and appreciated!! ✨♥️✨✌️ Edit; I am sure you guys prob have better docs than I do (crappy govt medical 😅) but thought I'd throw this out there, though I'm sure with all the docs you've been too, you may have heard of it... But I've been on Belbuca (bupronorephrine) for over a year now, and it's really helped with the nerve pain, without the fuzzy side effects of other pain meds. I wish you guys the best on this lifelong journey that is trying to figure out what the heck we have and how to deal with it! ♥️

Seeing the pain in your face when you speak of your wife's pain is touching because it's obvious how much you care. She's incredibly lucky to have someone as her partner who makes her a priority. I think I'll nonchalantly have to play this video while my partner is in the room so he can see a good example of being there for someone. I have some chronic health issues and while I don't feel constant pain, I know how difficult it can be explaining why you can't do something someone else may be able to do due to a medical issue, so props for that as well. It takes courage and helps others out there suffering through similar stuff feel less alone. I'm so sorry y'all are going through this. I pray they make some advances in medicine that will help her. In the last decade they've figured out so much that was just a dream before, so never lose hope. ☮️💜&🐠

This truly touched my heart on a level that not much does. Our situation is vastly different, but the part that I truly understand is how much time and energy it can take to love someone the way they deserve to be loved. I’m a stepmom to two teenage boys. The 18 y/o has Angelman Syndrome, a rare genetic condition he’s had since birth. For the last 4 years I’ve been his primary caregiver and he lives with me & his dad 24/7. I’m not comparing your wife and him, I’m elevating the similarities in how our hobby helps us and our family. And how it does have to take a seat at times. A spiritual/emotional/mental balance is something I don’t take for granted anymore. It’s work. But it’s so worth it. You’re both in my warmest prayers.

Sorry to hear that Bentley and thanks for sharing. Life can be just unfair sometimes. My Uncle suffered very painful neuralgia around his face and ended up having to get some nerves cut to stop it- it did help him and he got back to pretty much normal afterwards, but it was risky surgery. I think fishkeeping is a nice form of therapy in creating our little slices of nature in our houses- working on our tanks is a form of creative & immersive moving meditation Good luck to you both and hope you get that new job too. I enjoy your channel, so thanks for the hard work.🐟🐠

Thank you for sharing that, Bentley. You and your wife are great people for being able to deal with this as you have, and it makes the positivity that you always portray that much more genuine. I know others in the fishtube community have had their trials, too, and it good that this gives you a way to get beyond the immediate concerns. Of course, take care of what you need to; but you have a community here waiting to share the highs and the lows when you can.

Hey Bentley. Thanks for sharing. My mom had (past tense) Trigeminal Neuralgia for over 30 years. She's 85 now. Around 2015 she was at her wit's end; I don't have to tell you the details. We took her to see docs here in Philly that suggested surgery that actually worked. It was not easy but it was successful. I hope your wife can find something to get some relief. Keep at it, you never know what new approach is out there.

This is very sad but also very beautiful. The love and commitment you explain here is sadly not known or experienced by everyone. We never know what tomorrow will hold but whatever it is believing tomorrow will be a better day can make a big difference. Prayers to you both 🙏

Nothing wrong with being vulnerable, being human. Youre a good man for being there for her, not being selfish. Love and family are the most important aspects of our lives and sometimes we take them for granted than something like this comes along and puts everything into perspective. Prayers out to your wife and your family

(I'm not crying...you're crying.) Thank you for your courage and vulnerability in sharing this with us, Bentley. You have no one here to answer to and owe none of us an apology of any sort. Still, it's sometimes nice to remember our shared humanity, in a world that increasingly strips us of it - between the amplification of false divisions, replacement of tangible relationships with algorithm-driven devices, and countless ways we have to distract ourselves from the personal and interpersonal realities we'd rather not deal with. This is a nice reminder of the power and importance of returning to our humanity and being compassionate with one another. Thank you for that, and thank you for accepting the daily charge of taking care of the people in your life - of showing love and generosity and empathy and grace. Those things trickle down to everyone else - not only in your example and public testimony, but also in the reserves of those goods that those you've touched now have available to share with others.

My wife has a couple of cheonic health conditions that also cause her a lot of pain, and soentimes i have to put my fish on the back burner to be with her and to help her and our kids. Im praying for you and her, and keep on going!

My heart really goes out to both you and your wife. The chronic pain I have in my lower back, in the neuropathy I have in my feet, gives me the empathy to understand the great pain good both of you have suffered. Although the amount of pain that I have to deal with, must be very minor compared to your wife's absolute agony. My pain is just part of the medical conditions that I have, that make it difficult to do things that many people take for granted. I know your pain is many times worse than what I am going through. I was also blessed with a wonderful wife. She passed on 10 years ago on May 12th 2013. She also had a number of severe medical conditions. Whatever she went through, I suffered along with her. I know you suffer along with your wife as well. Somehow, we all make it through these things. I pray for all blessings for your family. I know that I'm thankful for the time that I had with her. You are truly a blessed man, that knows great love. We are all your friends, and we are blessed to know you.
