Omg saw “all of us strangers” at the cinema tonight , knew was about gay relationships , but didn’t see or read anything else ! For the first time in my life I felt it was like myself being represented on the screen ! You simply have to see it ! Just an extraordinary , moving , unique and unforgettable Film experience x

All of Us Strangers is hands down one of the best movies I’ve seen in years. The fact that Andrew didn’t get nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor is a shocker. All four performances in this movie (Andrew, Paul, Claire and Jamie) were just outstanding. A very moving film. Really recommend going to see it.

It's all about who promote it with, to put it in a way. Hang around the right people sort of thing, is what I heard some years ago. Not necessarily on merit. Sone movies are better than the winner.

Not only was Andrew Scott not nominated for a BAFTA but now this film is not to be released on DVD or Blu ray - only streamed, so preventing access to many potential audiences. What is going on???

This film was released in January. They’ll be in the running for next year.

@@caz5624are you sure about that? Because this movie got several BAFTA nominations this year. Just not Andrew Scott. I'm not sure how it can qualify for BAFTA both this year and next year.

@@PowerDiva I don’t understand how it works in that case. The BAFTA website says the longlist is voted in December, to comprise the full calendar year, and shortlist decided in January. Did this film premiere somewhere last year maybe? I know it came out in the UK after the BAFTA voting finished.

@@caz5624it was in the USA in December, I'm not sure about the UK. But it did get some BAFTA nominations at this year's ceremony, however Andrew Scott was not included. So I am pretty sure it qualified this year, otherwise it would have got nothing and we'd have to wait until next year's ceremony.

Those mics are huge and I cannot see the guests faces behind them so I think maybe get a smaller microphone set. Or just do a sound only podcast 🙂

I’ve never watched one of these “Capital” video interviews before so I have to ask, what is with these humungous microphones that are set up to block that face of the guests being interviewed. I have the feeling that this is a radio broadcast where in the normal course of events people would only be listening. Capital however has decided to film and post these interviews as video on social media and they seem not to have a clue about visual media and the quality of really small microphones that are available on the market today that would serve both the listening and the watching audiences well. Certainly the watching audience far better than these ridiculously large microphones acting as Capital billboards obscuring the faces of the celebrities you wanted to see during the interview.

@@johnhutcheon2806 I said “almost” universal and if you check reviews you will see I’m right. It had 96% ratings on Rotten Tomatoes and 100% from the UK majors. I think even you must admit that isn’t exactly an “echo chamber”. Over and out.
