I think that the third film will mostly focus on Gidget’s relationship with Max, alongside Rooster’s life in the city. I think that it would be a crossover with “Despicable Me” that involves Gru and Dru kidnapping an Afghan Hound named Echo, who gets taken to the pound. My release date for the movie is July 18, 2025.

This is how the opening to The Secret Life of Pets 3 should go told the same way as the opening to Toy Story 3, have it be done with Max, Duke and the rest of the protagonists/heroes including all the new characters introduced in The Secret Life of Pets 2 including Rooster and the Siberian tiger and Daisy or Katie experiencing a superhero or knight generated sequence or story that is revealed to all be a dream at the end and show a montage with Liam and Max and Duke growing up together (And Max and Gidget also having puppies.) and then begins with Liam and Snowball’s new owner having graduated from middle school and about to go to high school. The movie might even introduce a new villain that will be a pet animal comparable to Lotso from Toy Story 3.
