Newly unearthed secret audio tapes are shining a light on the struggles faced by Lucille Ball and her husband Desi Arnaz. The couple were stars of the biggest show on television, but also drew plenty of attention for their relationship strife. The tapes, discovered by Lucille’s daughter Lucy Arnaz, reveal the untold story of her parent’s turbulent love affair. Lucy said her mother recorded the tapes while writing an autobiography, and that she had never known of their existence until recently.

She wanted both but was incredibly talented, and enjoyed expressing her talent through work, whereas the daily grind of motherhood wasn’t as rewarding. She loved her kids but wasn’t in love with the task of parenting. Many women share that feeling.

I swear people in these comments 😂 Someone said why released the tapes without consent...what?! If the daughter now owns tapes because she owns the estate, who is she going to need consent from herself 🥴. Also the tapes was clearly for an autobiography so most likely they were either put in a book or was going to be in a book approved by her mother and father. Also I would like to add, clearly this is a cash gab by the daughter. It's kinda weird that she is releasing a movie and a documentary at the same time. Must be about the money.

Most people don't become doctors or lawyers, because it's not their calling. And Lucie Arnaz didn't really say anything negative about her parents, that I can find, but was honest that their marriage was full of fighting. She did say her mother was busy when she was growing up and she had nannies, to the point of when Lucille watched her grandchildren she had to learn to care for them. Was Desi drunk at work though? And how did each behave while drunk?

@@beebuzz959Desi was violent behind closed doors. I've heard he hit Lucy a few times, and she'd cover her scars with makeup. Domestic violence is never acceptable; I have a lot of empathy for Lucy. Imagine having to fake a smile to impress the world, and when the cameras stop rolling, chaos ensues 24/7? I wish people would have empathy for Lucy when it comes to Desi's true personality behind closed doors.
