I got an ATAR of *99.10* and my 'secret' was ambition. I'm naturally a bit of a lazy person, but rather than find discipline to force myself to work when I didn't want to, I found motivation that changed my outlook and made the work something I wanted to do. From day one I had my sights set on a 99+ ATAR and although I never particularly needed such a high score, I'm still proud of how I demonstrated I was capable of achieving my goal when I really put my mind to it. Summary: Find motivation to WANT to do it vs. Find discipline to force yourself to do something you don't want
