i feel like this may be due to a few reasons, i've noticed similar things: 1)algorithm bias- when you comment and interact with posts making fun of something it boosts the engagement so it spreads farther when tiktok was first becoming a thing, i only knew it for cringe compilations from the app (people making awful lip syncing and thirst trap videos). i got curious and downloaded it, but realized it was actually a good app, so i used it for other content. the bad/negative part is what stoked my curiosity originally 2) showing positivity is corny- the perception being positive/supportive = corny, so internet folks are more hesitant to show love (dick riding) to random artists, especially if they small
