@@vinceyreay Correct, that's a perfect example of my point. . You catch your trout...while it is ALIVE..and then release it ALIVE or kill it later. If you were throwing a grenade in and scooping up the dead fish, would you call that "catching" trout? The lady in the video has no other intent than to kill the moles. She has no interest in "catching" them.

If that mole was really worth $75, I doubt it would have been disposed of so casually. I think we were being told a story.

@@happyhammer1 So -- have you ever had moles making little hills in YOUR lawn? I had what were probably three or so moles in my yard this spring, and many of my neighbors have molehills. My methods have eliminated the problem, so far as I can see.

Golf courses, and any large public spaces, are notoriously a huge pain to trap due to all the activity. That's definitely a premium sort of client.

Conncet a hoes to a lawn mower exhaust or your car exhaust and start the engine, carbon dioxide death maybe a good idea, cover the vent holes and escape hole with a little dirt after you jam the hose in.

I used to have a dog that would sniff the ground as if she was following them underground (she was) she'd then frantically dig and then pull the mole up out of the ground. I miss that dog...the mole catching was just an added attraction, she was a wonderful dog.

No you're not Jenny. When I saw her with the dead mole in the trap I inwardly said 'awww' but they had to go. I hate to see anything suffer. I don't know how that trap worked but I hope it was a quick snap and it was a fast death.

I'm pretty sure it's Moles that are digging around the foundations of our house. It's caused an awful damp problem. Still don't want to kill them and am looking for humane ways to catch and relocate if possible. I'm not a fan of killing anything at all!

They cause listeria in cattle when they infect silage with the listeria from the soil.

Easy to say if you haven't owned a garden with a mole problem. If it really was just a few piles of dirt, I wouldn't bother trying to catch them. My mum's lawn is looking like an actual moon crater landscape now due to moles, because she just "let them chill", as you say. The entire lawn is pretty much gone. Her grand children can't run and play on the lawn, there are so many tunnels and holes that it's a sink hole situation, and you trip and fall just walking there. Again, if it was just a few piles of dirt, people wouldn't be this bothered! Trust me, if you ever own a garden with moles, you will understand the struggle!

@@bleuebrade3655 I'm not aggresive, I'm sorry if you felt that. They aren't too beneficial to plants, since they eat earthworms, but it's not the plants that's the problem. It's the fact that they can turn your lawn into a moon crater landscape. My mum had it so bad she couldn't let her grandkids run in the garden. All the tunnels and holes, in the worst parts they created almost a sink hole feeling. You ask if you can't deter moles without killing them - I have tried so many things and none seem to be working. All the tricks I could find and tried, sadly none work. I have explored traps that supossedly catch them alive as well, but they don't work either. I've tried every trick in the book, and even professionals say there are no effective way to control them (yet!) without killing them. If you have the magical trick up your sleeve that I haven't heard before, you are more than welcome to share! As you can see, lots of people have this problem. And none of us would be bothered if it was just a few piles of dirt. I wish that was all it was!

They're apart of the food chain also. A carnivore will come and eat it. Also earthworms deserve to live also. They make the soil better, and are good fish bait😁

Three months after posting, I can report that the moles are gone and have not returned. Until next spring, probably.
