The Iranian desert. A high plateau, surrounded by mountain peaks. Dry and barren. Yet for thousands of years a sophisticated irrigation technology has defied the desert here and made it possible for world famous gardens to flourish. They are the example and the pattern for the garden culture of the Islamic World. We would like to trace their origins in the desert and set out on a journey through the hot steppes to these refreshingly green oases.
Welcome to Luxury Living! The channel to view the world of Grandeur and Splendour; from extravagant homes to Magnificent Holiday destinations, we got the content for the aspirational soul within you.

@@hayrettinankarali6946 First of all , The city of Isfahan founded in the Sasanid empire (Neo Persian ) not saljuks . The gokturks tribes that existed in north east of central asia , had wars with Sasanid in that era and finally defeated. The Sasanids bring the left tribes of turks that surrounded to iran and they became iranian turks . The works of garden that you mentioned reached to it's peak in Andalusia has the Persian roots. Besides the Andalusia has Conquered by the Persian Muslim commander Tareq . Taj Mahal for example that you said made by Persian architects based on Persian style. Persians made porch and arch in architecture for instance that are using in many Islamic buildings.

The people aren’t the problem. It’s the evil in the government, & that’s true for most countries. I saw a Rick Steves in Iran travel special years ago, & it was wild to see how genuinely kind, loving, & welcoming the people were to him, especially because we only see them chanting, “Death to America” all the time. I’m sure they were told to make a good impression, etc., but the level of hospitality they showed him can’t be faked by everybody; in my opinion, it was genuine. I’ve always wanted to go to Russia back when it was the USSR to see Saint Basil’s Church in Moscow from the first time I saw it on tv. Even if I had a personal invite from Putin & billions $$$$$$$ to pay a bribe, I would never go there now.

Veronika Hofer, you did marvelous job to create this video with all the relevant and accurate information in a cohesive progression. You visited most of the important gardens of Iran. Camera work was great and of course the grand finale song by Parya. Loved it and I hope EP1 is a promise that there will be EP2+ I also would like to add that the word Paradise which you mentioned has a Persian orgian is composed of two words Pairi and Daeza. Comes from Pahlavi language and It means Round Wall or surrrounded with wall. Pairi is root of today's Persian word Peeramoon or surrounding, around. Daeza is the root of the word Dezh in today's persian meaning a castle a fort. So, the wall that surrounds this fort or a man's castle or his garden stood to represent what one wishes heaven would look like. Then it becamse Pardis in old persian, Paradiso in Greek and Paradise in English. The phrase "Islamic Gardens" is as stereotypical creation of British orientlaists as the phrase Middle Eastern Countries is. Middle Eastern from whose point of view? The British. The gardens started in Persia. Arabs did not have gardens. They were civilized by the Persians during the two hundred years of occupation of Persia. Gradually Arab's conquest spread to north Africa and then entered Europe. With the knowledge they absorbed from Persian about water channels and garden designs, they built magnificent gardens such as the Alhambra of Spain. These gardens, none of them are Isalmic even though there is might be a mosque next to it. They are all Persian Garden designs built by people whose religion was Islam. Exactly like we do not call any of the gardens in France or Italy as Christian garden. Monet's Christian Garden, etc. History was written by those who carried the sword.

With all due respect! May I ask why was it necessary to emphasize to write a lengthy paragraph explaining about the history and blaming the other party. Although it was clearly mentioned in the video about the history where the concept of paradise or garden comes from! So kindly ask your self!! Was the history written by people carrying the sword?? Or for your sadistic pleasure you like to mix or stirr religion with culture. Mind you both are totally different. So now who is to blame?!

Tit for tat! No thank you. You only want to engage into a silly argument just for nothing. Instead of correcting yourself you just want a head-on collision. And yes spellings does matter. And again thank you I am not interested in your silly argument. Again read what I wrote because in your case it was mainly a pleasure article rather than an informative one. So yeah try to separate the two word "Religion" and "Culture" in life as these are two separate. I can get more direct but you should be sensible enough to understand. Otherwise your word play is very poor.

Wow one would think if one had all these gardens then one would understand the importance of reforestation out from the city to stop the sand storms would be wise and make the desert usable again. Wow

Fantastic. I love deserts and poetry. Now I love iranian gardens! I wish the western American deserts had such watery gardens and calm courtyards of beauty. I’m only familiar with trashy abominations like Las Vegas and Phoenix.

Fun fact: The concept of Paradise (Firdaus) in Islam actually were inspired by the Achaemenid Empire paradisaea gardens. "One of the most important elements of paradise gardens is water, with ponds, canals, rills, and fountains all being common features. Scent is an essential element with fruit-bearing trees and flowers selected for their fragrance."
