I've heard so many people say "focus on yourself." A lot of my mental difficulties are coming from loneliness & isolation. Being in a crowd while feeling lonely makes it worse! There is only so much you can do when it comes to self-love. It is nowhere near a magic pill if you don't feel connected with people. People treat it like such.

I think self-love has gone way beyond that. Now you’ve got people that are actually in love with themselves. Whenever you do something for these people they look at what you did and think , you know, that’s not what I would have done for myself and they are disappointed. So you will never be good enough for these narcissistic head cases.

It sounds like she's mistakenly conflating self-love with things like solipsism and irresponsibility. Fat people for example who reject the "fat acceptance" fad and instead decide to do something once and for all to lose weight, do so because they care about themselves.

Oh, allie, it's so, so, easy when you have millions, nannies, and everything you could want just handed to you! I have an idea, how about you give up the cushy life for a month, no, a week even and try to live life as a working mom who can't feed her children on what she's earning? Then, get back up on that stage and tell us all how lovely it is to be you.

Better listen to her again without envy or dislike or whatever is bugging you about HER. This is good advice to young women! And I'm a father to 3 and a daughter in law! There's TRUTH in what she is saying!

Ok, let's get some things straight here. I have no problem with anyone who is happy in their lives. I have big problems when people who lack perspective, or simply just don't have a clue, telling others the "answers." Especially when those "answers," come with a political agenda! I have more money and worldly possessions than I want or need. I am jealous of no one, lacking no thing, wanting only to be a better person while I finish my time on earth. The reason I'm full instead of lacking is because God created me to be the most magnificent person. I am created to be exactly what God wants me to be, and I trust and believe in that. So, please stop trying to create unhappiness for those of us who chose to be grateful for what we've been given.
