Your very right. The justice system is definitely screwed up big time. They don’t want to waste money trying monsters like this for all their crimes. My sons father was murdered. We knew who murdered him, so did the police but after months of them telling us they were going to make an arrest and acting like they were going to do their job if our family kept our cool and didn’t speak to the press. They finally came back months later and told us they decided they weren’t going to arrest the person or even press charges because the monster would use the insanity defense and the DA from the county we live in thought it would end up being a “waste of their money” in their words for them to pursue this cold blooded murder. This happened in 2014 and his murder still walks free today. So we have no faith in the justice system what so ever anymore after this happened. Their more worried about money than they are about getting real justice for the victims and their loved ones. Especially if the victims families didn’t come from a more well off family. It makes me sick. I don’t usually speak much about this but sadly that’s what it all comes down to is money and if the victims aren’t from well off families then justice is going to have a much different outcome in the United States at least. Stay safe and take care everyone 👋🏻

I think it’s messed up too but I think they did that so that if they failed on the first one they could try him for the others. If they tried him for them all together and he was found not guilty then he would’ve got away and not be able to be tried again bc double jeopardy. By trying him for them all separately they could - in theory keep going until they had a guilty verdict.

@@amberlimbaugh It’s amazing that they don’t have any awareness or conscious memories of the horrific event, but I’ve studied a lot about child brain development as a parenting and pregnancy social worker and unfortunately they could have latent memories and unconscious/subconscious trauma since the first five years of a child’s life their brain is soaking in so much information and they are being affected by everything that’s happening around them. So it’s possible that they’re struggling in other areas of their lives and don’t realize there’s a connection. But I pray they’ve sought therapy to just work through the event and losing their mom and to think about and process how it could be affecting them without them realizing. Ultimately seeing that they’re doing so well is a wonderful sign and I wish them only happiness and peace in their lives.

I mean I don't count them as I see the mom and kid as one entity until the baby is born, as they share one system technically, mom dies so does the baby. It doesn't really show what type of person you are if you count them or not, to be 100% honest. You can see them as one entity while also seeing the kid as a valid life. The only time I ever despised them counting unborn babies in death was for the covid count 🤷🏼‍♀️ felt like they counted them to make the number seem higher and it wasn't an accurate number at that point. I feel like counting them in murders is perfectly fine even though I don't count them myself. Just depends on your viewpoint on pregnancy I guess.

@@lowrijenkins3722 they linked his DNA when he was already a suspect for the murders. He was previously already convicted for a rape (for ridiculous 30 days), yet his DNA wasn't on file. Which is weird. If it was, they could've link him to the murders after the first body they have found, saving some of the other victims. That's what people are surprised by. His first raped he clearly didn't leave DNA, as they couldn't convict him, second rape, he went to jails, so his DNA should've been taken immediately, but apparently it wasn't, because if it was, they would've linked him to the first body.

His death sentence was overturned because at the time he was sentenced, Florida was one of three states that allowed judges to sentence defendants to death even without a unanimous jury vote. In his original trial, the jury voted 10-2 for the death penalty. They amended the law. So he had a resentencing hearing. And again, the jury voted 10-2 for the death penalty. But with the amended law, this meant that the judge had to go with the non-unanimous jury, which is how his sentence was ultimate changed from the death penalty to life in prison without parole. I can’t help but think that if they were able to show that he was responsible seven murd3rs and taking nine lives, that the jury would have been unanimous for a death penalty vote, imo.

If you watch "I am a Killer" series on Netflix, some of those killers actually want death penalty because apparently on "death row" it's better than in "general population". And because it takes decades before there is actual execution, they spend their life in what some of them consider "much better" situation, and they get a "peaceful easy" death, versus "lifers" who die from illnesses and such.
