I honestly can't imagine going back to XL at this point. Not only does it take a ton of modding to make it genuinely good, but even with the mods the game is so much easier than Session that after playing it for a long time XL just isn't even mechanically impressive to me most of the time. Even some of the best XL players like forrest kelp and many others basically just do variations of the same tricks and lines in every video because XL simply doesn't have a ton of dynamic potential anymore. The mods have kept it alive for way longer than it would have survived on it's own, and easy day has the community itself to thank for that. Session devs get a lot of hate they don't deserve imo

I have 2000 hrs in XL & I can't go back neither.. even with multiplayer & mods the game has gotten stale & boring to me.. I guess landing every trick first try and having no real challenge did it for me.

It's cool that this remake is free. I hope sxl players are happy. Anyway, I like session better. For me, sxl has strange controls and physics (even modded). Imo, sxl is better in terms of modded maps.

The difference in physics between these two games is very noticeable when skating gaps because Sessions player character doesn't have any weight, but XL uses a weighted skeleton for the player.

@@Seditionzz @maxcrowe the regulars on the session discord agree with this. we were supposed to get the big drop landing stuff but that is non-functional at the moment. devs are upgrading to UE5 tho, so we might actually get some animations when that happens. I have over 2000 hours in session, but landing with the four wheels on the ground often feels better in skater XL.

You should use fros mod to change your direction your skater face when doing certain tricks in stances . Adds so much more realism to the game

Jesus this map is so impressive. If this was the dlc, I would have been so stoked. What we got was good no doubt. But Rincon! Man, I've veen waiting for a proper recreation and that dlc was perfect. They missed the mark for my personal tastes. But this is a free map!? Insane. Absolutely insane. SXL isn't my bag at all, but I may be tempted back by this alone!

I have some opinions on DH13. Man seems to have a temper, after Session made a post about the moon gravity, guy basically came into the discord and started bashing the game, along with saying that he used to make maps for Session, but he removed all of them after that post. A little while after that statement, he came back, posting a single link to an unlisted video called "suckfession" which showed this map. Personally I don't like the guy, he seems a bit rude.

Your xl gameplay looks so buttery, I’ve been playing xl for a long time now (as well as session) and I love xls physics, but the look just isn’t what I want it to be. Your xl looks awesome and much more fun, even your xl graphics camera pov is nicer. Was just wondering if you’d make a setting video/updated version. Thanks man👍

I may do a full mod video down the line but I’m not really sure how to approach it when it’s just all numbers and sliders. I’ll keep it in mind tho and share more info on my mods if that helps!

Hasn't Session modders stolen most of the official XL maps? and made money from them by putting them behind a paywall. DH13 actually remade everything and added to his map, plus gave it away free. I think DH13 only made this map because a creature employee warned modders not to port the school map to other games, despite that employee making money from a KZfaq video of him playing stolen XL map. This is the first time a Session inspired map has made its way to XL. We all know which community steals from which

I bought SXL and Session when both came out and used to be a SXL fanboy, but because of ur videos and easy day studios I started to play session and now I enjoy it. SXL feels like it's slowly dying, F*CK easy day studios. Since 2023 waiting for that f*cking update that never came out, they threat their customers like clowns. Edit: And yeah gaps in session are awful, u gap a 15 staircase and your impact sounds like a cardboard box hitting the ground.

That's actually not true. Lol if u look at the full history of the leap of faith there was 1 skateboarder who tried it before Thomas. He kicked the board out and broke both legs on impact. Then Thomas's famous hit and roll out. After that only 1 other person ever got to try it. It was a roller blader who ended up slamming really bad, and then shortly after that the stairs and spot were demolished and an elevator was put in to avoid lawsuits ect. Just a little spot history for ya. Lol sorry I've been obsessed with this since I was 10 years old lol

If I thought this was going to damage Session in any way I wouldn’t have posted it. It’s just a harmless mod that won’t take any sales away from Session and certainly won’t stop any new players from picking up the game. Modding has always taken from other games and while yes there could be some legal issues with this, for the most part it’s harmless fun and I see no problem here.

I think you do see that very real situation but it’s in your click-interest not to see it. But hey nobody needs to lose any sleep over my moral judgement, I’m just a session fan voicing my opinion. People can do what they want.

I see your point of view don’t get me wrong and yes that’s not an impossible scenario by any means. I personally just feel that the XL and Session player base is already so divided that this map is only going to please the die hard XL players who won’t play Session anyway, meanwhile anyone playing or interested in Session are always gonna pick that game first as it has a lot more going for it. I also won’t deny as a content creator for these games I do benefit from posting about something that may be “controversial” as it gets clicks that’s no secret. But I want to cover any and all interesting things happening in the “fake skate” world and sometimes those things may cause some conflicting opinions in the community. I am fully welcome to hear all opinions on something like this as that’s what the comment section is for!

Tried SXL about 3 times and still can’t get my fingers to play it. Copped Sessions when it first came out and never looked back since. Sessions just gets better and better overtime where SXL has been shit its whole life with how it plays. Animations are the biggest turn off to me
