We are so sad to say goodbye to Lord Howe Island, but the adventure calls. Unfortunately this is the shittest sail we’ve had yet, everything breaks.

Expedition Drenched - I had not seen any new videos popping up in the recommended list, so I finally investigated. I do not see anything posted for a couple of months - I am unable to locate S3 Ep 13 - Is something wrong, or to put it another way, is everything all right? OK, Instagram says "been quiet, something coming." I feel relieved! The sea can be a dark and dangerous place.

That's what separates exp.drenched from all the other sailing videos. A group of friends with some exiting and constant new ones joining the crew, in comparison to other solo or couple - sailing, which is ok. A larger boat and crew...this is adventure

1982, at 22 yrs old, I did BsAs, MVD, Porto Alegre, Rio Grande (Lago dos Patos, Oh Margot!) Florianopolis, Angras dos Reis, on the SAtlantic in winter, on a 7 meter vessel that I look back at now and realize the mad and decided conviction. Every Drenched video makes me smile and admire, the conviction and luck of the crew of Sylfia. May the winds always be in your favor guys.

Mate, gotta say that it was totally different back then and kudos to you for doing it on a 7mtr! When I think (back in the 70's/80's) we used to use paper charts some even from Capt James Cook time (as they hadnt yet been updated) (first GPS satalite went up in about 1982 and was a few years before it became commercially avaliable) to all the easy, magical modern navigation systems and the financial support that can be garnered today, there really is no comparison to back then sailing by the seat of your pants, using your own money and not to mention you were totally by yourself in most cases if anything went wrong. Not disparaging in any way to Drenched, please dont think that, but back then it was a 180 degree opposite of what it is like today.

Sailed in some 60' typhoon seas between New Guinea & New Zealand years ago. It's hell but once it's over a real sense of accomplishment. Think of the stories & memories generated in those few days! Thanks for the ride along.

Ohhhh, I feel your pain! My own absolute hell involved a puking grey tank, somehow it was even worse than the black system blocking the previous night.🤢 Molly & Phil, brilliant! Go for it and get out there, you’ve more friends than you realise. 😎👍🍻

Didn't you hear that "gentlemen never sail to windward"? Having sailed to Lord Howe Island, I can confirm that it's a tricky stretch of ocean. A lot of currents and changeable weather with a few sea mounts thrown in for good measure.

I had no idea there was almost a year delay on these videos (Wind prediction screen shows last November), but it's very cool that your Patreon has an option for real time updates! By the way, your Patreon link is incomplete, it shows "ExpeditionDre..." and link doesn't work. I had to manually type in the rest to get it to work 😉

When sailing offshore it is my observation that one problem is no problem it's when one problem mixed with a second or string of problems that makes for a shitty time. Then lack of sleep seems to exsasabate the need to deal with it.

Your poo problem made me think of biodigesters I've seen that some organisation gives (or sells I can't remember) biodigesters to farmers in Africa where they put their cow poo in the bag and it creates cooking gas for a few hours of cooking. On your boat you have a few living poo generators, so why not put the poo to work making just a little cooking gas?

I was told in Annapolis boat show by an ex-Expedition Drenched crew member that their boat Sylfia is on the bottom of the ocean, that everything was lost, that the footage you see was filmed last year.I hope this is not true. The weather screen on Sylfia's screen in this video shows last years date.....And now I wonder? If true why not share,I'd still watch the channel? Does anyone out there know for sure?
