Hip-hop has a longstanding tradition of honoring rappers who’ve passed on and keeping their name alive through songs, interviews and murals around the world. Seen as a way to celebrate their contributions to the game rather than define them by the cause of their death, it’s this commitment to paying homage that means younger fans are made aware of Tupac & Biggie long before diving into their back-catalog. However, when record companies & the execs of their estates begin to artificially add new projects to their discography without any direction from the fallen artist themselves, things can turn sour.

@@thefinalflex0_o877 that doesn't mean you have to be getting millions of streams etc. If some rappers had 10k listeners before, the moment they die, plus the news and everybody tuning in, they would even rise up to 30k listeners. Not everyone had the buzz as juice wrld did alive, much less dead. But that's beside the point. When rappers die and news circulates, their fanbase increases because these people are curious of what this dude was like when he was alive. When, for example x was alive, I saw thumbnails with his eyebrow shaved etc so I thought he would be some dark punk style rapper but after he died I found out how awesome his music was.

I don’t know what the fuck your talking about their exposure like goes up 100 fold I may be gassing it a bit but it’s a lot more than what they were normally getting just because ur not into the music scene don’t think people aren’t getting more exposure. @@JCSproductions123 From a music perspective you definitely don't know what you're talking about, production on Circles is insanely good and it's one of Mac best albums, and no, it doesn't feel rushed, the album was basically finished, so much that some of the songs were filtrated before the album even came out, those versions of the songs are the actual unfinished ones, the lyrics are exactly the same and so is the rhythm of the song, they were basically already finished. Even this video said it, Mac started development in Circles alongside Swimming, and not only that, but the albums are connected to each other, Swimming was the first of three albums that were gonna be connected, It was gonna be Swimming, Circles and Infinity...Swimming in Circles till Infinity. To be fair to Tupac's estate, it has had mixed results when releasing his music posthumously. The following were posthumous: The Don Killuminati: 7 Day Theory album, "Changes", "Until the End of Time" (song), "Thugz Mansion", and I think the "Better Dayz" album overall was very good. Tupac also had numerous untouched and unreleased songs that were amazing.

@toopienator
@toopienator Жыл бұрын
@@rimaq_ the Em produced album obviously had love and care put in, but Em twisting Pac's vocals to shout out G Unit was scummy. He should have just left the vocals the same and just mixed and made the beats, because the shit's good, but Em having Pac shout out G Unit when Pac died before that was even a thing was clearly pushing an agenda. Just let the man's vocals remain unchanged. Em's production was also obviously rushed, as he was on drugs and producing and recording his own album at the time. However, it wasn't bad. Just not as good as Em's other work in the production department, so to speak. I just wish Em didn't push an agenda as hard. I have Soldier Like Me on a playlist, though, so that's an indication as to the quality of production, but the agenda thing is shitty as fuck. Edit: not defending em for having good production on the album either. The way he handled the whole thing was shitty, with good production being really the only major benefit.

Circles feels like a very “normal” posthumous album. I can listen to it alongside Mac’s works without really noticing or caring that it was posthumous. The genre change is definitely very obvious, but it still feels like a very finished album, especially since it stays true to its name and circles back to the sound of the beginning of Circles at the end of Once a Day.

It’s sad being a genuine fan of Juice and X before they passed, cause after their death things shot up and it didn’t even feel right anymore. People were all of a sudden so different than they had been before and it was just like, these new people all of a sudden “care” and start to dictate how their new music would be released. Not sure if that makes sense, I can’t even explain it

Hip hop needs to stop these albums. Unless the artist had them all the songs fully put together with a plan they gotta go. No other genere does this. No postumus albums from Layne Staley or Kurt Cobain because their vision couldn't be recreated. You can't guess where the artist wanted to go or what they wanted to say. Espacially cats like X or Juice who had very distinct ideas on where they wanted to go. Its just a money grab and a bad look all around. And don't forget if its trash it could destroy the image they built while they were still alive
