"Omo" means “child” in some languages in the south of Nigeria, but when used as slang it can express shock, stress, or a precursor to the beginning of a conversation with a friend. Example: “Omo! The artist did an amazing job with the portrait.” “Omo” in Korean The word “omo” is another common romanization for 어머. This word still means “oh my god” in Korean.

Nigerians came from the Congo, the Sudan and Kemet, today’s Egypt in the ancient times 25,000 years ago. We were the original rulers and owners of those lands 200,000 years ago up to the dawn of the last global warning over 10,000 years ago. And our last wave of migrations since it started over 25,000 years ago ended at the fall of Kemet to the Arabs and the dawn of Islam.

So I had to comment. I did my undergrad at an Ivy in the US. And as most of you know, the majority of black (African) students at these institutions are nigerians or kenyans -- i am neither; i am from west africa, ivory coast. So one day i was chilling in one the rooms reserved for religious purposes (muslim prayer) and there was an envelope on the floor mat. I took a snapshot at the receiver's name and thought to myself, "do we have a new japanese brother ???" Later came in one of the students who used to lead us in prayer (the imam). I asked him who that new brother from japan was. He smiled and told me he was our nigerian brother that I knew well, but that name on the envelope was his full name. I learned two things that days: some nigerian names do sound japanese, and most nigerians cut short their tribe/family names when living abroad. I do it sometimes myself. For example, i would sometime write or say i am "San" while the full name is "Sanogho" or "Sanogo." Thank you for the video.

I do believe that the Chinese originated from these people and beyond, including areas in Cameroon called Wum in the northwest province. These people in Cameroon do not just have similar chinese names (like Chu, Kum, Wong, Wang etc) they do have remarkable similar genetics. When they do give birth, the babies have mongoloid features (at first doctors thought that the children do have down syndrome but they do develop very normally along the line with reduction of the mongoloid feature towards more pronounce Bantu features).

Nice video and history class. Many Nigerians know that they are the ancestors of the Chinese and Japanese people. The First time I heard the Calabar tribe of Nigeria spoke Immediately I told my friend who was Calarbar there are similarity between their tribe and the Chinese with their names and language been so identical. And from that day onward I started calling the Calabars and Shang people the Chinese of Nigeria. Also for the Japanese they are share the same thing with my tribe in Nigeria(The Benins or Edos, Igbos and Yoruba). The Old name of Tokyo was onces called Edo state or City and my mum once told me that there is a festival that the Japanese people celebrate and that same festival is celebrated only within the edos of Nigeria and during the festival the Japanese women paint theirselves white and eat only yam I think and same with the edos(I can't fully remember it all). Also you can find all sort of Japanese names in the Edo(Benin) language and are also Edo(Benin) names in Nigeria. Examples: Osaka Osasu Osamu Osasumi Osami Ogie Osahen Osato Osas Iyayi Iyamu Edochi Emechi Sakamu Osahi Osayi Chika Etsuko Fumi Emi Eruto Ewe Hifumi Isamu Chiro Kokoro Shingo Shango Shengu Emeka Emeku Uwa Ume Asahi E.T.C...

As someone from Nigeria who's around the area of the Shang people you talk about, I would like to say you my friend are incredibly spot on! We the people around the North Central/Middle Belt of Nigeria have names that others might mistake for a corruption of the Chinese Language. You can go to States like Plateau, Southern Kaduna, Adamawa, Nasarawa, and many others and hear names and words like Gyang, Dek, Kim, Gwong, Num, Woh, Da'anum,, my own tribal name is Shurinum, our tribe name is Gwong, there are also tribes like Berom, Jaba, tarok, Atyap, Bajju etc. all around the Nok terracottas sites and its cultures. I was just working and some thought and realization came to me some time ago, African tribes and languages even tradition and cultures are too similar to the Asian side to just be a coincidence considering there isn't very much contact between the two peoples.

Do you also know that if a Chinese for example where to rub their face Black (like they do in 'Black face') many people wouldn't even recognize immediately that they aren't really Black? There are many videos of Africans going to China and in a short while they learn and speak the language even with a better accent than a few of the natives (there are many Chinese dialects) . @@TheLocalStandardYou are correct. Africans are masters of tonal language, as it originated in the continent, hence their easy ability to speak perfect Chinese in a way that shocks the locals. @@african-history-fountain There are many videos of Chinese locals themselves marveling and saying to the Africans that they speak better Chinese than even some of them, even more interesting the Africans only went to China for only a very short time. I follow a lot of them on KZfaq, and they're plenty.

I had always noticed all the similarities in features, names, and language and words, even though I am originally from Jamaica 🇯🇲. My fathers side of the family including myself and Siblings have the same features as the Ibo/Igbo features and my mums side the Ghanaian features. As the Jamaican motto goes, "Out of many one People" I had always observed people's features names and mannerisms and noticed the similarities including body languages. The world maybe a big place but we are of the same DNA gene pool. As we say in Jamaica 🇯🇲 you cannot hide blood or family.

Interesting - Language scholars have a consensus that the ancient mainstream Chinese spoken language is more closely related to Cantonese NOT Mandarin (a language imposed on the populous & made "official" after the Qing dynasty was established by an ethnic people from Manchuria), it is therefore wise to make future studies with this in mind.

It's undeniable that we all migrated out of Africa, but that was tens of thousands of years ago (~50k years). At what point are the migrants considered African or Chinese? And did the migration skipped Europe? Civilizations don't just migrate or teleport. There are dark skin Asians but i'm not sure how that means they're Africans.

Hello, I have worked in Central Nigerian state called Benue State from 1975 to 86. The largest ethnic group of that state is Tiv (around 2.5 million). Their language and facial features are very much like Chinese. Their names, such as Hua, Chia, and Tse, also have similar meaning. They find it difficult to pronounce the letter R. So they mix up letters L and R, same like Chinese. They are supposed to have migrated from the central African region.

Precisely! In addition by calling Black indigenous Asians “Africans”, it as well endangers their already infringed land rights. It’s no secret that even certain Khwe people (labelled Khoisan by outsiders) carry Asian genes from an encounter back approx. 2k ago. Coastal Kenya & Tanzania have artefacts & people’s dna strands which date back from trade relations to the early 15th century. If any Chinese or Japanese would find this theory interesting than only for economic goals. Chinese are not a homogeneous group. Some Nigerians imitate Americans, claiming they started everything or were everybody (Hebrew, Egyptian, etc.) original, Nigerian exempt. Rather an inferiority complex. Meanwhile we know how Africans were treated in China during COVID! We are not always the people in our pedigrees. Having a Japanese grandfather doesn’t make me Japanese & the world is full of peeps who erased some African/Black ancestry eagerly from their lineage - what else is new?

Comparison the Shanga language with Chinese putonghua should be a mistake. The current putonghua is not an ancient language dated back to couple thousands year ago. The current putonghua was a language adopted by Qing Dynasty about 300 years ago. It is advised to compared Shanga language with three Chinese dialects namely MinNan dialect, Yueyu dialect or KeJia dialect, which could dated back to at least 3 thousands years ago. Also suggest the Nigeria government to cooperate with China to study deeply academically on the cultural connection between two places/countries. China would funds this study definitely.
