There is a brilliant film called The 12th Man (Netflix) about a Norwegian spy who travelled on the Shetland Bus back to Norway for a mission. If you are at all interested in WW2 and even if you're not it is an awesome film

Having lived in Trondra and worked in Scalloway, I was very much aware of the Shetland Bus. Some years ago my wife and I visited Telavåg on the west coast of Norway, which had been one of the coastal villages the Shetland Bus used to land. The Nazis dynamited the whole village and deported the population. After the war, the Norwegians made German prisoners of war rebuild the village. There was a small Shetland Bus museum in Telavåg, with information about Shetlands Larsen. Very moving.

I know of someone who was called to collect a radio set because the leader of the resistance movement left Norway in a hurry, probably one of the many passengers on the Shetland Bus as he had a price tag on his head by the Gestapo

I was aware of the Shetland Bus from my long term interest in ww2 history and had the good fortune to visit Lerwick on business a while ago, while visiting Shetland Heat and Power met a great guy who gave me a lot more info. Loved the place and got a planned visit again so great. bytw The flight back in a twin prop in gale force whatever was great fun - almost vertical take off (and I hate take off in jets) and the music to 633 squadron came to mind. Great place and highly recommended

Does anyone know where to find the BBC interview in Lunna House with Larson? I have searched Google but can't find anything. Please tag me in the comments or reply to this comment if you have information on it as I am doing my Leaving Certificate History project on The Shetland Bus. Thanks in advance
