Ya Allah, give us the wisdom and knowledge of your deen similar to what you have bestowed on this man and give us the ability to make sense of our surroundings and let us not be fooled by our enemies. Also I want to add that by no means do I think Imran Hosein is perfect in all his analysis, he is only human and bound to err, but I don't think he is trying to say he is completely certain about all his geopolitical analysis in relation to the Quran and hadith, but he has been spot on on many things.

Sheikh by saying that the prophet was wrong for choosing his cousin to be his successor is a very big statement. Correct me of I am wrong but the prophet would not do opposite of what Allah wants.

S peace He didn't say that. In fact the holy Prophet s.a.w never chose Ali r.a as his successor. So, listen to him carefully, he did not say that the Prophet was wrong in choosing Ali, as the choosing never happened in the first place. Peace.

@@Alizz1187 Our Prophet left behind two that will take care of the Ummah after he passed away - The Quran and the Sunnah. Hence, WHOSOEVER holds on to these two will be befitting to lead the Ummah. Hence, there wasn't any need for him to appoint who is going to succeed him.

In another hadith it says that the Holy Prophet said: "If a man (in a battle) is attacking a kafir with a spear, and it has reached his throat, and at that moment he says 'There is no god but Allah', the Muslim must immediately withdraw his spear." Another hadith records that "to abuse a Muslim is an act of wrong-doing, and to fight a Muslim is an act of kufr."

Muhammad (saww) appointed Usama, a believer to lead a party in an expedition, this is what is meant by belivers being your leaders, i.e. those appointed by Muhammad (saww) and therefore Allah (SWT). There is a reason why Allah (SWT) said "and those who paid Zakat while in the state of bowing". He was referring to Ali (as) being the leader of the Muslims as Muhammad (saww) and Allah (SWT) is.

Sunni references: Ibn Asakir, as quoted in Tafsir al-Durr al-Manthoor: The above two verses of Holy Quran explicitly indicate that the Prophet, with the order of Allah, has asked people to love his family as a command. Moreover loving them is in our benefit since "true love" requires to follow and obey the purified members of his family who carry his true Sunnah. Conti....

You need to reform Shia first to make Sunnis don't hate them. Shia is nothing but a Sunni-hating outfit, created 100% purposely to spite and hate Sunnis. Shia exists based on hatred. They make it article of faith to insult and hate Sunni figures particularly Aishah, Umar, Abu Bakar and Usman, not to mention Muawiyah etc. Besides that, they commite other forms of blasphemy in religion by adding things to islam that were not present in the Islam brought by Prophet Muhammad. And in my country Malaysia, they are busy trying to Shiaize Sunnis.

Brothers and sisters, Alhamd-u-le-llah we are all Muslims, believing in Allah and Rasul-o-llah SA . I see in some of comments both Shia and Sunni brothers and sisters a dangerous view of the opposite side. As a Shia I have never taught to hate Sunni brothers and sisters but there are some self-called Shias supported by MI6 and residing in London and England (with some influence inside Iran and Iraq ) that promote hate speech against Sunni and even Shia that promotes talks and unity. Please don't accept anyone who is for disunity of Muslims as a Muslim. There are talks going on between the heads of all parts of Islamic society. In-sha-allah they will reach the right conclusion.

As rightfully said by the Sheikh at 18:50, Hussein r.a stood up against family rule of Muawiyah when he appointed Yazid as his successor. Not only Hussein, he was joined by son of Abu Bakr (Abdul Rahman), his grandson (Abdullah ibn Zubair), son of Umar (Abdullah) & Ali's cousin (Abdullah ibn Abbas). Abu Bakr's grandson Abdullah had very strong support in Makkah & Medina to fight against Yazid but was finally hung at wall of Kaaba. My point - the sahabas were all on the same side as Hussein r.a!

THE REAL AND TOTAL LOST: Sunnis, Shia, Qadariah, jabariah, Wahabi, etc. [Surah Al Mu'minuun: 52 to 54] Surely religion is a religion for all, that the Islamic religion and I was your Rabb, so fear Me. Then the followers of the prophets divided their religion to some ideology. Every creed (group) felt right with what is on their side. And in vain they fell down indefinitely.

Known as the Sermon of ash-Shiqshiqiyyah(1) Beware! By Allah the son of Abu Quhafah (Abu Bakr)(2) dressed himself with it (the caliphate) and he certainly knew that my position in relation to it was the same as the position of the axis in relation to the hand-mill. The flood water flows down from me and the bird cannot fly upto me. I put a curtain against the caliphate and kept myself detached from it.

mashAllah sheikh Imran hussein is one of the most reasonable and humble sheikhs in the school of ahlulsunnah. It would be great to have him sit down with some of the shia scholars in a discussion regarding Imama/Khilafa. He sounds like a great man to have a healthy knowledgable discussion with him. there are many false assumptions he makes when retelling the shia aqeeda, all this would be cleared if says what hes saying in front of a shia learner/learnered man/scholar..

Scene at 0:17:50 Quran2:247 Allah indeed, had ever appointed a leader for Bani Israel as stated in the Quran, above. And Allah also mentioned the criteria of His appointed leadership :- 1- Abundantly with knowledge 2- Bodily prowess (physical strengths) (Imam Ali a.s. mostly befitted the criteria.) Did Allah leaves these ummah on their own, without leadership after the Prophet (s.a.a.w), while He had done for bani Israel before?

He did not want to cause a split in the Islamic ummah, so he kept his silence. I suggest you and your fellow Sunnis take a few minutes (maybe an hour) to read "Peshawar nights", the debate between the Shi'a scholar Shirazi, and a group of Sunni scholars. He does a very good job of solving the misconceptions your people have about the Shi'a.

quran 9:40 If you do not aid the Prophet - Allah has already aided him when those who disbelieved had driven him out [of Makkah] as one of two, when they were in the cave and he said to his companion, "Do not grieve; indeed Allah is with us." And Allah sent down his tranquillity upon him and supported him with angels you did not see and made the word of those who disbelieved the lowest, while the word of Allah - that is the highest. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

If you want to talk about conflicts you must first talk about the cause! Why was the conflicts? 1. Who assasinated Osman (r.a)? 2. Was the name of Ali (r.a) included in Adzan or in Salah during the Prophet (s.a.w) time? 3. Was Ali (R) not a companion of (s.a.w.) like the rest? 4. Why do they put Hadiths above the Quran? 5. Why do the Shiat say the Imams are Infallable, is Allah not the only one that is Infallable? 6.Is Karbala a sacred house for muslims? They put Islam in a negetive spot

Family rule of the prophet is different from family rule of a monarchy, the prophets family lived and died for the religion. These monarchies live and die for wealth. The Sheik admitted the prophet swt chose his cousin imam Ali as his successor. Anyways I'm not about division only unity

the verse says to wipe your feet for wudu while you wash your feet. The 'sunni' translation adds (and wash) infront of feet.

Bukhari Hadith:4.325 Narrated Aisha, After the death of Allah's Apostle Fatimah the daughter of prophet asked Abu Bakr As Siddiq to give her, her share of inheritance from what Allah's Apostle had left of the Fai which Allah had given him. Abu Bakr said to her: "Allah's Apostle said: `Our Property will not be inherited, what ever we (Prophets) leave Sadaqa, Fatimah the daughter of the Prophet got angry and stopped speaking to Abu Bakr, and continued assuming that attitude till she died.

I. It is in Hadith that once during a military expedition a man, when he saw the Muslims, said: "Assalamu Alaikum, there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." But a Muslim killed him, thinking that the man had proclaimed the Kalima just to save his own life. When the Holy Prophet heard of this, he was very angry, and he reprimanded that Muslim. But he replied: "O Messenger of Allah, that man read the Kalima merely to protect himself from our sword."

That`s not true. Sunnis always talk about Kadija, Fatima, Ali, Hussain (RA) when necessary. The past is clear to anyone who wants to know, there is nothing to hide. I dont think you and i can resolved the political differences, but onething is sure 80% Sunnis love the Ahlul Bait but they dont worship them. Every lectures of Sunni Preachers always starts by praising Allah & sending words of peace to Muhammad (s.a.w) & the Ahlul bait, that speaks clearly how much they love them. Jazakallah :)

I listen to every lecture by Sheikh Imran and am planning to personally go meet this great man in KL (from Canada) but my blood is boiling with the lack of historical knowledge exhibited by him in this lecture. Muslims are not fighting against eachother, fools are fighting against eachother. Such is the meaning of this video. I do not agree that there cannot be love and friendship between each other again as to be perfectly honest, it is a lack of western understanding and respect. The old scars need more time to heal and the good deeds just need to continue and things will heal themselves to bring mutual respect back and this should just be actively pursued as it should be regardless. Great Video.

half truths only strengthen our iman: When Talha, AzZubair and 'Aisha moved to Basra, 'Ali sent 'Ammar bin Yasir and Hasan bin 'Ali who came to us at Kufa and ascended the pulpit. Al-Hasan bin 'Ali was at the top of the pulpit and 'Ammar was below Al-Hasan. We all gathered before him. I heard 'Ammar saying, "'Aisha has moved to Al-Busra. By Allah! She is the wife of your Prophet in this world and in the Hereafter. But Allah has put you to test whether you obey Him (Allah) or her ('Aisha)."

Sekena means tranquility (peace of mind) Allah (SWT) sends it down upon the prophet (saww) and the believers, not the munafiqs who claim to be Muslim but are actually disbelievers. It matters because Allah (SWT) says in the Quran He will leave a SUCCESSIVE authority. After the prophet (saww) who had only defensive battles, Ali (as) was supposed to succeed him but Abu Bakr and Umar (la) stole it and spread the empire by the sword and innovated many thins in the religion.

There's no disputing the fact that Dinar and Dirham is mentioned in the Qoran. Just because it is mentioned makes it the only mode of doing transaction halal in the eyes of god .Is it explicitly mentioned that ANY OTHER MODE OF TRANSACTION READ PAPER MONEY is not acceptable and it would be haram. Please give the Ayat number if so. Did God not know that modern society would be using paper currency and if he knew and in his eyes it is Haram then he should have explicitly mentioned that any other form of transaction -paper currency -would be haram. Before the advent of Gold and Silver coins business transactions and day to day dealings were in Barter. As society evolved the transactions moved to Gold and Silver coins and further society progressed it came to paper currency. Had God been so against paper currency then he would have mentioned in the Torah, Bible and the Qoran. Please don't comment that the former has intrinsic value and the latter no intrinsic value. I very well know that.

i am confused - in many references it says that the Mehdi will be from the family of the prophet? can you please clarify? one example: The Prophet (PBUH) said: The Mahdi will be of my family, of the descendants of Fatimah (the Prophet's daughter). Sunan Ibn Majah, v2, Tradition #4085 or The Prophet (PBUH) said: "al-Mahdi is one of us, the members of the household (Ahlul-Bayt)." The thing is the whole Ummah didn’t pick Abu Bakr, there were few Sahaba present at the incident of Saqifa. Following Abu Bakr taking power there was a civil war because many of Mohammad’s companions didn’t recognize Abu Bakr as the rightful caliph. Why did Fatima die ? Why didn’t Fatima get Fadak? Why was Iran and the Byzantine empire attacked suddenly ? Why did Umar and Uthman get shanked ?

With reference to the above Quranic Verse, many Sunni commentators have written that: when the Verse was revealed, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) asked the Angel Gabriel: "Who are the Kinsmen and what is their due?" The Angel Gibrael replied "Give Fadak to Fatimah for it is her due, and whatever is due to Allah and the Prophet (PBUH) out of Fadak, that also belongs to her, so entrust to her also

Refer to the esteemed Sunni historian Abul Hasan, Ali Ibn al-Husain al- Mas'udi who in his book 'Isbaat al-Wasiyyah' describes the events in detail and reports that: "They surrounded Ali (AS) and burned the door of his house and pulled him out against his will and pressed the leader of all women (Hadhrat Fatimah (AS)) between the door and the wall killing Mohsin (the male-child she was carrying in her womb for six months)."

Abu Bakr said (on his death bed): "I wish I had not searched for Fatimah's house, and had not sent men to harass her, though it would have caused a war if her house would have continued to be used as a shelter." 1. Muhammad al-Bukhari, a 9th century Sunni Shafi'i Islamic scholar narrates "Ali noticed Nothing. 'Ali had not given the oath of allegiance during those months (i.e. the period between the Prophet's death and Fatima's death, Fatima's (daughter of Muhammad) funeral was held secret and Ali did not inform Abu Bakar as per will of Fatima) 2. Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj, a 9th century Sunni Shafi'i Jariri Islamic scholar narrates the same as Muhammad al-Bukhari

For thousands of Muslim brothers and sisters all over the world (including myself) the Sheikh has boosted our imaans, given us very crucial information and details that no other Sheikh has attempted to address. I'd like to see your credentials as a scholar before you start attacking this amazing Sheikh. May Allah preserve him.

and i have heard similar stories about abu bakr being asked to lead the prayers instead of hazrat muhammad hand that was an inclination that he was meant to be imam :P
