What a delight to see 1970s Aldbury again. The Valiant Trooper pub sadly no longer there. I recall skating on the village pond in the freeze of 1963

I am younger than you, Penny; in 1963 my parents were married just a year. My brother Anthony came in 1967 and I was born three years later.

Never had any knowledge of it though was around when it was shown. I wonder how many other shows that I would like from the late 70s early 80s?

Always remember the quote at the beginning of this episode, ‘good news never came out of a brown envelope’ 45+ years since I first heard/saw this and soon as I get a brown envelope in the post, it immediately springs to mind 😮

Hardly a new saying it stemmed from the War Office telegrames that informed relations they had lost somebody in the war.
