The qasidah recited here is a part of The Shimmering Light Mawlid (مولد الضياء اللامع) written by Sheikh al-Habib Umar. Habib Umar is a descendent of the Prophet ﷺ and was born and raised in Tarim, Yemen. He teaches Traditional Islamic Sciences at an institute in Tarim which he established over two decades ago called Dar al-Mustafa. He also travels around the world and guides people to Allah. The poem summaries the account of the birth of the Prophet ﷺ, how he was raised ﷺ, and his life ﷺ. It is traditionally recited on Thursday nights throughout the world.
